I abruptly woke up, sweat trickling down my face, I had the same dream I kept having. I looked at my alarm;
"Oh No, I slept in!" I shouted.

I quickly scattered out of my bed, I was late for work, I'm exploring caves and underground tunnels in the Amazon rainforest.

I finally made it to the meeting spot, I had everyone's eyes on me. I flashed them a guilty grin as I kept bowing and apologizing.

"Choi Miran" I turned around to see my boss' furious gaze, "Why are you late?"

"I'm sorry Ms. Lee, I slept through my alarm." I apologetically replied. Her gaze softened, but her grimace was still there and it looked like it wasn't leaving anytime soon.

As I was at my desk packing up the essentials for the Amazon my Co-worker Yoon Haerin walked up to me.

"Hey Miran, are you ready to go?" She asked. I looked up at her and gave her a small smile, "Yeah" I replied, "I'm almost done."

She nodded her head, "Okay, we'll be waiting in the car that's taking us to the dock." She enthusiastically answered

When we made our way to the dock we were escorted to a luxurious boat that would take us to the Amazon. I looked over at my friend Minhyuk, he had an uneasy face, it was as pale as ice.

"Are you okay?" I asked in a concerned voice

"Uh, I-I don't really do well on boats." He voice was shaky

"Oh. If you need to you can stay here and help us without coming too." I suggested

"No, it's okay. I would rather go with you. I'll just have to suck it up." He  hesitantly replied

I nodded, stepping into the boat. I sat down in the back as Haerin sat in the drivers seat and Minhyuk sat opposite of me.

The boat roared to life and then we started moving. I felt the cool, crisp breeze hitting my face, making me slightly shiver. I looked down at the clear, blue ocean. I smiled as the strong smell of salt water entered my nose. 'Wow, I've never seen this in Korea before. It's beautiful' I thought

"Pretty right?" Haerin's voice invaded my thoughts

"Very" I answered.

I closed my eyes as I swayed with the rhythm of the boat cascading across the sea.

-

The boat stopped. I opened my eyes, I was greeted by the bright sun that blinded me.

"I can't believe it" Minhyuk shouted jumping up from his seat, "we survived. I actually didn't die!"

"Did you think we were going to die,
Seriously?" I laughed while he gave me a frown.

I got up, stretching my arms and back. I made my way to the end of the boat where I could step out onto the sand. As I stepped out I looked up in awe, the sight in front of me was breathtaking, there were tall trees that you could probably see in space, they were species of birds perched up on branches.

"Close your mouth, you don't want to catch any bugs do you?" Haerin said lazily.

Minhyuk started putting the equipment out on the warm sand. I started to help while Haerin started setting the computers and analyzers up.

-

After we finally finished we started walking around the forest. We decided to check trees for any artifacts that could be there.
