"they're actually out at the minute." I lie, after my mum passed away my older brother moved out and I'd only seen him a couple of times since. "I dump my bags by the door and take my converse off. I notice Ashton and Luke whispering to each other but just ignore it. "So what brings you 'superstars' back here then?" I ask emphasising the 'superstars' part. "Well for one we're not superstars Darcy, we're the same nerdy boys as before we left" Luke smiles at me. "Speak for yourself Luke! I was never nerdy" Calum boasts, I laugh "are you kidding you were probably the most nerdy!" He pretends to be offended and we were interrupted by the phone ringing.
It was Laura, she said she's coming round in 10 minutes. I look around at the boys, Michael's hairs changed colour, again, Calum's grown, Ashton's got bigger muscles now and Luke's eyes have gotten bluer (if that is possible) he's gotten much taller and so has his hair!
"You all need to leave" I state.
"But we only just got here?!" Michael whines.
"I have a friend who'll be here in 10 minutes" I reply, avoiding eye contact with them all. "So why can't we meet her?" Ashton asks. I awkwardly say "erm she doesn't really erm like you?"
I say it more like a question than it should have been, "why?" Calum asks, just as the door opens.
"hey! You haven't seen or heard from you know who since we- oh" she stumbles into the room and catches sight of them. "What are you all doing here?! Actually no don't answer that! Darcy what are they doing here?" She shouts. "Erm I might have let them in, maybe?" I say. "No way are they staying, you all need to leave, Darcy doesn't want to see you." Laura says. I laugh a little at how feisty she is. I really do love my best friend!
"Why don't you like us?" Calum asks smiling like a puppy dog. Laura looks at me and says "because you just left Darcy, you were so close to her and you just left. Don't give me any crap about you being 'busy' you don't know the half of what she's been through the past year! None of you called or texted her! Even when she reached out to you!" Laura snaps. The boys all fall silent, that's a first!
"We've apologised for leaving her, can't you just give us a chance?" Luke asks, frowning. They all look at me. I shrug, "I guess, I mean what harm can it do?"
