I came up gasping but was confused I don't remember why I was so scared. 'Miss Phillips you may leave now' said the lady. I got up 'excuse me but why can't I remember anything?' I asked. She peered over the top of her glasses and replied 'we do that so you can't tell anyone else about what happens in the test, now go' she presses a button on the machine and a door at the far end opens up.
As I walk out I hear the lunch bell go off, I remember saying I would meet Erin for lunch in the library. Library belowThe library is large square with desks that you can do homework on or just class work. Each desk has an two printers(one on each side); in the far corner there was a small section of physical books and a larger area containing e-books etc.
I walk in and immediately spot Erin in the physical book section. She notices me and waves me over, I walk over with a smile on my face. 'So how was it?' She asks.
'It wasn't that bad but I can't remember anything about the test' she looked confused just like I was. I decided to change the subject. 'Shall we get lunch and come back here?' She nodded and we went to the cafeteria.We walked into the cafeteria, it was a long room with the serving counter on one side and curved tables opposite it.
Cafeteria belowErin passed me my tablet and we joined the lunch queue. When we got to the front I gave my tablet over. The chief scanned it and handed me a tray full of specially chosen foods along with my tablet.
Me and Erin, then went to sit by the window. Our other friends, Mia and Fin came over to sit with us as well. Mia has silvery blond hair with a baby face. Whilst Fin had dirty blond hair but he had a strong jawline and he was lean, not too many muscles.
Mia ^
Fin ^
Mia and Fin are our other two friends they are brother and sister but they only have their hair colour in common. They also have an adopted brother living in the Chicago dome called Xander Wilson. He is matchless. His father did a crime against the dome but nobody really knows what he did but he was kicked out because of it.
'Hey Fin, Hey Mia' I said
'Hey Chloe' they said back.
'So Fin....' started Erin.I tuned out their voices and gazed out of the window. Matching. I don't know what to think about it. I mean, don't get me wrong, I think it's a great way of making sure people don't divorce.
But by matching people based on similarities is just wired, have any of the dome officials ever heard of opposites attract? It also takes away anyone's choice of who their going to marry. Stupid rules
I was snapped out of my daze when a dome official clad in blue strode into the cafeteria followed by 5 officers. I noticed they weren't the usual officers. These officers were dressed in complete white with a single black belt going round their waists. On the belt there was
A small handgun;
Two pairs of cuffs;
A variety of cans containing different things and a long metal, weird looking device that had a flashing blue tip.'Those are the think monitors' said Fin. 'The think what?' Asked Erin.
'Monitors. That little device can scan anyone's thoughts. I've never seen them here before so someone must have had an offensive thought towards the dome'The quite intimidating monitors looked around for a minute till they started walking again. The only problem was, they were heading this way. More specifically towards me.
