Introduction
Images of witches have appeared in various forms throughout history—from evil, wart-nosed women huddling over a cauldron of boiling liquid to hag-faced, cackling beings riding through the sky on brooms wearing pointy hats. Actual witches blended into society seamlessly, even better than people who weren't witches.
In the May of 1963, nineteen people were murdered, accused and found guilty of witchcraft. The Salem Witch trials is still known as the most deadly witch hunt in american history. But those were not witches, in the midst of the hysteria, under the lead of two powerful witches at the time, they decided to flea both south and north. Those who went south ended up in New Orleans, and those who went north ended up in Camden Hill. A secluded town at the foothills of a small mountain range. They've lived and thrived for centuries under the human radar in these two places. Of course, witches and perhaps other unnatural creatures can be found all across the globe. But in terms of America, these are known as the witch hotspots of modern time.
