A soft wind blew through the clear, night sky. The stars sparkled and winked, as if they were encouraging me. Encouraging me for this moment. This moment that will change the world.
Forever.
My father looked at me, his crystal blue eyes red from all his crying. He knew I wouldn't be back. He knew.
"Are you ready?" Asked another man behind me, clicking a few buttons. There was a zapping sound, and light glowed from behind me. My father had hold of my arm, so I couldn't move much.
"...dad..." I started.
"It's...it's okay..." My father wiped his eyes with his sleeve.
"I-I'll be okay..." I heard my father choke on a sob in the darkness.
"Sir, we need to let her go now, or we'll miss our chance." Said the man behind me, a bit of anger in his voice.
My father folded me into a quick hug, and whispered in my ear.
"I...I can't believe my girls all grown up..." Tears welled in my eyes and I turned to the blue, glowing, wall behind me.
"Let's do this..." I said softly.
"Alright, arms together-" the man put my arms closer to my body.
"Mouth closed-" I shut my mouth quickly.
"And we're ready." I nodded, and walked closer to the blue glowing wall.
"Three, two, one, zero...." The man said slowly, and I closed my eyes tightly.
A force went into my heart, and I almost screamed. But, if I didn't that, I would screw the mission up.
I couldn't do that.
-
My eyes shot open, and a gasp escaped my throat.
I've arrived.
