Chapter 17

-Chapter 17-

-Liam's POV-

It's been 3 days since Niall left. 3 day since Margaret punched Devin in the face and told him to leave, and there's only 3 more weeks until the summer camp ends. The lads and I all decided to come back next summer because we've really had such a great time..well that is until Devin had to mess everything up. Maggie really hasn't been the same though. She puts on a pretty good act for the campers, but when its time to go back to the housing building and she's away from the kids, its pretty sad. She blames herself for what happened even though its clearly Devin's fault, and I actually heard her crying one time. So Louis and I came up with an idea! While Margaret was in the shower yesterday, we took her phone and called Syd! She'll know exactly what to do. While she is helping Margaret out, the rest of us will try and work on Niall! I just hope our plan works the way we want to!

-Syd's POV-

I'm on the bus back to camp. Liam and Louis called me last night and told me everything that happened. Let's just say, saying that I hate Devin is a complete and utter understatement. He's lucky that Margaret got to him before I did, because he would have no balls left! He'd would have to learn how to breathe under water! He'd have to learn how to pee sitting down! He got lucky with just a punch in the face! But I'm pretty damn proud of little Maggie-Mae! I didn't know she had that in her! I guess it had been building up after all those years. But now I know not to piss her off to much. She and I normally have our banter and shit like that, but I know now not to push it too far. I remember the first time I met Margaret!

-FLASHBACK-

I was so nervous! I couldn't breathe. I so scared that I would mess up..Dear God, don't make me mess up!

''Up next, is Sydney Reynolds!"

Okay Sydney! remember to breathe! Crap! I forgot to breathe! Breathe!!

"Hey, are you okay?" A girl asked me. She had short blond curly hair and big blue eyes. She looked to be my age, but I had never seen her in school.

"Um, yeah, I just forgot to breathe.." That sounded like I was retarded. I mentally face-palmed myself.

"What are you singing?" She asked me.

"Hey Jude, by The Beatles." I responded

"Really? That's my favorite song!" She sounded excited! "But go on stage! They're waiting for you!"

I nodded my head and grabbed my guitar and made my way to center stage. I sat on the little stool the placed for me and I began to strum the recognizable chords of Hey Jude. Right as I was about to open my mouth to sing, I completely forgot the words. I could tell i had a worried look on my face but i just completely blanked! Damn it! Then I heard someone singing to the right of me and I looked to see the blond girl with a mic in her hand! She was helping me! I moved my head in a way to tell her to come on stage with me and we continued the song. When we got to the ''na na na na" part, we got the entire audience to join in! The girl even did Paul's part where he improvised over everyone! It was kinda funny. When the song was over we left the stage and exited stage left.

''Oh my god thank you so much!" I said as i put my guitar down and hugged her.

''No problem! I'm Margaret by the way!"

"i'm Sydney!" And from that moment on, we were best friends. Who knew a mediocre talent show in middle school would bring 2 people that didn't know each other to become best friends!"

-END OF FLASHBACK-

The bus came to a stop and I realized I was at the camp, I probably was freaking the person out next to me because thinking about Devin I had a nasty glare on my face, which turned into and smile when I was thinking about Margaret. And when I reached to get my stuff, I had a water gun, the Nerf Super Soaker 500 to be exact. the man looked at me like i was crazy and mumbled something under his breath but i guess it was insulting, so i threw my bag over my shoulder then prepared myself. I squirted the water gun at the man then ran out of the bus yelling ''THIS IS SPARTA!!!" I got a few weird looks but when i turned around when i got off the bus, i saw the man flipping me off so i proceeded to do the 'jerk off' motion. That trumps 'the birdy' any day!

When I got to the housing building, Liam and Louis were waiting for me outside.

"Syd! You made it! Thank You so much! We had no idea what else to do!" Liam began.

"Don't worry about it. This is what best friends do. Now where is she?" I asked

"She's in the living room laying down on the couch watching Marley and Me." Louis informed me.

"Of course..a depressed girl watching a depressing movie...Idiot." I somewhat mumbled. I walked into the building put my bags down the started pumping the water gun. Louis and Liam gave me a look as to say 'what the hell are you going to do with that?' But i just gave them the look back that said 'watch and learn, boys'. I quietly walked into the living room and saw that Margaret was indeed laying on the couch. She was crying right now because it was right at the part where the dog was being put to sleep.

I jumped right in front of her and sprayed her with the Nerf Super Soaker 500 and she shrieked like the little girl she is! "GET YOUR DEPRESSED ASS OF THE COUCH! NOW NOW NOW!" She followed my orders and I chased her out of the building with the water gun. I kept chasing her till she was on the dock towards the lake. Perfect. I grinned evilly at her, then ran and pushed her in. When she resurfaced, she looked at me slightly annoyed and slightly glad to see me.

"Guess who's back bitches!?!"
