At a very young age I knew the world was different. Not everyone saw what I saw, I found that out the hard way. People looked at me like I was crazy but I knew what I saw. By the age of 10 i knew not to talk to anyone about what I saw, what I could see. I couldn't talk to no one. I trained myself how to fight by watching the supernatural fights in the underground ring. It appeared I'm the only one of my kind.
Ten years later.
I found someone. Someone just like me. I was drawn to him. And I knew he was drawn to me. So I did what I'm good at and I hid. I watched his team from afar. But I slipped up... got to close.
I moved quickly around the corner. I looked behind and didn't see him anymore. I let out a breath as I pressed my body to the ally wall. Closing my eyes sighing in relief.
That was way to close.
Pushing off the wall after a few more seconds I turned to go farther down the allay but ran into something fleshy and hard. My hands flattened against his chest. My breath caught.
My fingers slowly gripped the black shirt. That was soft. Despite the cold breeze he was warm. Really warm. My hands instantly warmed. Under his v-neck I saw black ink dancing across his collar bones. My mouth suddenly dry I licked my lips and swallowed hard as my eyes traveled up his neck and over his prickly jawline from not shaving today. The smirk the played on his lips told me he knew I had been watching him and he knew it. I met his ice blue eyes. I gasped softly and his fingers applied more pressure on my hips.
"I know your not trying to hide from me." His husky voice cut through the silent cold night. As his smirk grew.
I scoffed, "I would never." My left hand came to my chest to add effect and I rolled my eyes my right hand still on his chest.
He made a 'mmhmm' sound and leans in closer, his soft lips brushed my ear. "I know you've been watching me." He turned his head and ran his nose down to my exposed collar bone and gave it a soft kiss.
My eyes grew large as I jerked back from him like he had just zapped me. He laughed as he pulled me tighter to him. I had no where to go. I was strong enough to break his hold on me. But my pull to him and curiosity kept me still.
"I-." I had no idea what to say to him. I had never been this frustrated before. What he was doing to me was unrecognizable. My brain came up short when it came up to my bodies reaction to this man. My stomach dipped again as his lips kissed under my jaw. "Stop that." I turned my head away out of his reach.
His deep chuckled bringing my attention back to his stunning face.
The tingly feeling ran through my body and I couldn't help but wondered if he felt it to. If he did his face gave away nothing. He didn't falter like I did.
In that moment I had never wanted to get away from someone so much. Things he was doing to me without even doing anything was starting to scare me. I had never been in a serious relationship before.
I mean sure I had, had been on a few dates but they never lasted. A supernatural being would always get in the way and run them off. But now I was the one wish someone or something would run me off.
As if someone had read my mind his friend called out to him.
" Nikolas!" I could hear his footsteps nearing as I jerked my body out of his hold. When he loosened his grip and straightened up glaring at the ally entrance where the street light was.
I took a step back and glanced over my shoulder and the strawberry blonde headed man came into view. I stepped into the darkness to watch their exchange.
"Over here, Collyn." Nikolas' aggressiveness towards his friend shocked me.
"Watch your tone. Your the one that just disappeared on me man." His voice wasn't as deep as Nikolas' but he was a few inches taller, 6'2 if I had to guess. He had dark brown eyes like me. He was handsome with a strong lanky build, one very similar to his partners.
"What are you doing over here anyway?" He frowned as he looked around the ally. I held my breath as his eyes swept my way and he squinted my way. I pressed my body harder into the brick wall. Hoping it would swallow me up. Collyn didn't seem to see me.
"I thought I saw something, I was wrong. It was a stupid cat." Nikolas glanced over my way with an irritated tone.
Did he just call me stupid?
As if on cue a black cat ran across the ally chasing a rat. Crashing into all the trash that lined the walls.
"Damn dude you really have been over doing it hear lately." He grabbed Nikolas' shoulder and squeezed. "Let's go get some greasy take out and head home man." He pulled Nikolas out the ally but I didn't miss the flash of Nikolas' determined face before they disappeared around the corner.
I let out my breath and collapsed against the wall. My heart racing like I just killed a demon. The sound of their motorcycles reviving up and speeding down the road told me they had left. One lingered a few short seconds before the other and I knew that was Nikolas.
I waited a few more minutes to be sure they were gone. I looked around the ally one more time before I pushed off the wall more tired that I thought I would be. I walked the three blocks to my motel room. I stuck to the shadows incase they decided they wanted to stick around and catch me off guard.
I unlocked 4B and pushed open the door as I looked left then right before I went in. I locked and chained the door and pushed the chair up under the door handle for extra measure.
I took a long shower before I crawled up under the covers and went to sleep with my knife in my hand under my pillow.
