"Just get a ride from Kavinsky or something." He mumbled, leaving me in the parking lot. All alone.
I stood in the parking lot with my hands tucked away at the pockets of my coat. It really made me wonder why I truly did fall in love with Josh in the first place. Yeah he can seem like a total jerk, but there's something about him that drives me crazy.
He left me nearly sobbing in the parking lot, but that didn't stop me. sniffled and wiped my tears flowed down my face, standing all alone.
"Lara Jean?" I turn around to face him but then turned around again. The one and only, Peter Kavinsky stood there while he took out one earbud from his ear. "Is that you?" He squinted, now walking towards me.
I stayed back facing him, taking in a deep breath. I can't believe I was really standing in the parking lot crying in front of Peter freaking Kavinsky now.
"Y-yes?" I wiped the very last tears with my fingers and turned around. He wore Nike sweatpants and the school's lacrosse hoodie. His brown hair glistened in the subtle sun rays peeking through the clouds; I can tell he just finished practice.
"Hey hey what's wrong?" He speed walked towards me and put his bag down next to his foot, putting his hands around my cheeks. Peter's worried hazel eyes looked into mine, as if searching for at least a pinch of joy in them.
"I-it's nothing okay?" I pulled away from his grip and adjusted the sleeves on my coat. "I'm fine." I simply said, looking around hoping to disappear into pure dust. Peter scoffed, looking at me.
"Something's wrong. No one just cries out of nowhere." He chuckled softly, putting his hands in his pockets.
"Yes you can." I said with a frown on my face. "You can just cry and pretend everything in your life is perfect." I looked up at him with a small smile and raised eyebrows.
"Mhm, yikes that's tough Covey." He raised a brow at me and held out one of his hands while the other was still in his pocket.I stared at his hand as if there was sticky honey smeared all over it.
"C'mon Covey, just take it." He chuckled. Finally, I took his hand and smiled up at him.
"Mhm, that's right. You have a ride home?" He asked, looking down at me. I fixed the straps on my backpack and shrugged.
"Not sure if I want to hop in with you to make him mad or take the bus home and show that I really miss him." I looked down at the ground, kicking pebbles around with my brown shoes. Peter sighed, looking up at the sky.
"Well if you want to.." He sighed again, this time looking at me now. "I can drop you off around the corner and you can walk the rest. I'll pull up into my driveway like ten minutes later." He shrugged after saying this like it was nothing.
I looked up at Peter with a feeling of sparks in my eyes and a smile on my face. "Really? You would do that?" He looked at me with a confused look and pulled out his car keys, beeping his keys while he glanced around the parking lot before finding his black jeep.
"There we go." I heard him mutter to himself with a grin. "You coming?" He asked over his shoulder, already walking to his car. "Yeah, wait!" I said, following behind him.
