Sapphire [Saff] Baille has spunk. She's determined to do what she wants, and doesn't really care one way or another what other people think about her. She's strong, tough, proud, and won't put up with shit.
But just because Saff doesn't put up with shit doesn't mean she won't get it. Her senior year sees her in a completely new school, a typical Hollywood high school - complete with jocks, nerds, preppy girls, and, worst of all, bullies. The school assholes take an immediate dislike to this short, fiery redhead, making life miserable for her. However, typical Saff style, she's fighting back - she can get through this on her own.
The real question is, will the school's five golden boys let her? She fights constantly against their kind words and helping hands, loathing the idea of dependence on somebody else. Will Saff let these nice guys in, or will she keep shutting them out?
