Raven's POV

I woke up to the sun shining in my face from a slit between the curtains. Groaning I cover my eyes with my hand and rolled over to be met with a face full of fur.

Opening my eyes I realized that my face is pressed into Midnight's back. I sigh to myself before trying to get off of the bed without waking up Midnight.

After managing to turn around without making any noise I put my feet on the floor as quietly as possible. Getting out of bed I search the room for my bag and pull out a pair of leggings to throw on.

Walking towards the door I see that Midnight is already sitting by the door. I swear I thought I was super quiet. Damn dog it's like she hears everything.

"It's like you know whenever someone moves an inch." I say rubbing her head before I open the door and she runs out the door and down the stairs.

I walk down the stairs and am greeted by the smell of pancakes and bacon. I follow the smell into the kitchen to find Jade cooking. I stand in the doorway of the kitchen shocked to see her actually cooking.

Jade never cooks and when she does it's usually because she's hungry and is cooking for herself or if she is just being nice and that rarely happens.

"Hey. What are you doing?" I ask as I walk into the kitchen and take a seat in a chair at the table.

"Good morning to you too and to answer your question I was trying to be nice and make you breakfast." Jade walks away from the stove and over to the table and sets a plate full of food in front of me.

"Okay. Thanks for the food." I say as I grab my fork and dig into my pancakes.

Jade puts all of the dirty dishes into the dishwasher before grabing her plate from the counter and sitting down across from me.

We eat breakfast in a comfortable silence not wanting to ruin the deliciousness of the food.

"So I was thinking we could go shopping today." I look up from my plate and give Jade the best "are you kidding me" look I can muster.

"Why would you wanna do that?" I ask as I stand up to go put my plate in the sink.

"I just want everything to go back to normal." Jade whispers as she stands up from the table and walks towards the sink. I roll my eyes and walk back towards the table and sit down.

"So you just want me to pretend like last night never happened?"

"Look I'm not giving you a choice. Your ass is gonna be ready within the next ten minutes so we can go to the mall and be normal teenagers. Let's just forget about the drama for one day." She gives me one last look before walking out of the kitchen and up the stairs to get ready.

I sigh before forcing myself out of my seat and up the stairs.

I honestly don't wanna do anything today. Last night was exhausting and I'm not exactly buying what Jonathan said about leaving me alone. Knowing him he's probably watching my every move just to make sure I don't do or say anything.

I close the door and walk over to my bag and find a pair of washed out blue jeans and a sheer black button up with white polka dots all over it. I drag my bag over to Jade's full length mirror and sit down on the floor. I dig through my bag until I find my hair brush.

As I brush my hair Jade burst through her door fully dressed and ready to go.

"I'm glad you're ready. I thought I was gonna have to drag you up here and get you ready myself." She tells me as she plops down on the edge of the bed.
