As I walk down the lonely and deserted road of Castries, I look back to see if anyone is following me. At night it gets cold and dangerous. I left work at ten tonight. Being a workaholic has its benefits. Not all the time though. Since I don't have a car I had to take a public bus to get to the city from Rodney Bay, which cost me more since its late, and now I have to wait by Courts for the next bus. At nights it gets crazy. I can hear shouts and dogs barking with rage. I wasn't afraid. Being depressed as I am, you wouldn't give a fuck about how late it was.

As I stood by Courts, I heard a few foot steps rushing towards me from behind. When I looked back I saw five men chasing someone. They were running towards me. The fuck? I quickly stepped out of the way and let them pass me. I didn't want get involved with gang affairs. Behind this big store was a grave yard. The ghetto was small but many people feared them. For one, they never walked alone and they were famous for stealing, robbing and killing.

Luckily, they didn't see me standing there.
