1st Era: The Age of Chaos
The Age of Chaos, where the world was still a child. The universe was split between two sides, two energies. Both later labeled as the essence of Good, and Evil. There was no order during this time, and the different realms mingled and colluded, melting into one another unpredictably. Everything was out of control, Chaos ensued and our realm was consumed by demons. Large spires of malicious energy were erected by the mortal races in homage to the rulership of their Evil Overlords. For eight thousand years, the realm was in turmoil. The demons and devils had the mortal races enslaved to work tirelessly, slowly increasing their influence upon our realm. Gargantuan societies of brimstone and obsidian dotted the world for a time where the forces of Evil would harvest the souls and power of the realm and its mortal inhabitants. As the Forces of Evil amassed their strength and power, so has the Gods; the gods were working on creating sixty-four beings to counter the darkness. These beings were called Solars. Weapons of mass destruction designed to purify the realm from evil. The pleas of mortals spurred the Gods to take action, and for the next three hundred years, the forces of good and evil waged war. The war was bloody, both sides severely weakened. It was only after the Mortals were blessed with power from the gods, that the tides were turned in the Gods Favor. The Gods connected the mortal realm directly to the Ethereal realm, allowing mortals to harness the miracles of the gods and the natural energy floating within the realm, later called "Arcana". All mortals were given the ability to harness the Arcane, however, only a chosen few from each race were imbued with Arcane energy. These mortals were then called Sorcerers. Magic flowed through their blood and they naturally were able to manipulate the energy around them. There were the others who studied the Arcane, acquiring ability similar to a sorcerer; they were called wizards. With the support of the mortal races, the Gods were finally able to overthrow the forces of Evil and bring about a new age to the realm. The Age of Gods.
2nd Era: The Age of Gods
The world was still recovering from the destruction prior to this Era. The Gods instructed the 64 Solars to watch over the realm as protectors and guardians from any threats. The Gods had devised the system of government that they used to govern them, and the mortal races. As the gods held onto themselves the Mantle of Responsibility, they have given each of the gods a Role in which they would perform their duties. Each God governed a different Role, Savras who governed Fate; Mystra, who oversaw and managed the Arcana within the Realm;Tyr, who governed Justice, and so on. They all had their own roles, and to each the mortals had begun worshiping them, increasing their influence and power within the realm. The Gods walked beside the mortals during this time, however only for a short time, until order was restored to the Realm. The Age of Gods were quite short, however much was done during this time. Many of the constructions from the Age of Chaos were destroyed, but some still remained to this day and the mortal races have begun to grow once more. The Gods had sculpted many different creatures from the land within the realm, creating different beast of mysticism and woe. The Age of Gods only lasted for about 2000 years, but before they retreated back into the heavens they have bestowed a final parting gift to the mortal races. The Avriel. The Avriel were a Race of winged creatures created in the image of the gods both mortal, yet immortal. They had the blood of the Gods running through their veins with the bodies of mortals. They ran society in the Gods absence and subsequently begun The Golden Age of Twilight.
3rd Era: The Age of Twilight.
This was the highest point of mortal society. The land was flourishing and the Mortal races were all complacent and satisfied. Massive kingdoms erupted from the spur of economic improvements and all the races lived in harmony. The Avriel mingled with the mortals and begun sharing their warmth with them as well. And from the Avriel came the Fey. The Fey were beautiful and mystical beings who had their place as half-borns from the Avriel, Mortal Races, and the natural arcana of the realm itself. Two different Fey specifically were the culmination of the time shared with the Avriel. The Moon Elves, and The Sun Elves. Born under the sign of the two celestial objects in the Sky, the two Fey were more naturally close to the realm of Gods. These two Fey had become the predecessors of Avriel, the ones to take their place. And form those two Fey, all other race of Elves were born. As this Age was the most prosperous, it Was also one of the shortest, lasting only 400 years. This was due to the priorally unknown traits that the Mortal Races had, these were then considered their greatest curse. The Mortals Greed and selfishness cause mass war and havok amongst themselves. The Mortals were jealous of the Avriel, with the ability to fly and their place in the hierarchy. As the mortals revolted, the Avriel were taken by surprise, and many were forced to find solace in isolation, not involving themselves in the affairs of mortals. This then was the beginning of the 4th Era, The Twilight Fallings. After this time, a single day at the beginning of each Era the Sun and Moon would disappear from our Realm. This was then considered an Accursed day where a Single Elf born from either the Moon or Sun elf race would be born, unknown but possibly just in spite of the mortal races, they would be forced to suffer through their existence as a cursed being made from the culmination of impurities of the mortal Races who have sullied and betrayed their trust. On that day, the First Darkened Elf was born.
4th Era: The Twilight Fallings.
The Mortal Races had revolted and begun waging wars with each other, The Elven Races were left with a choice. To become subjugated by the Mortal Races, or to escape and find solace elsewhere. Almost all of the Elven Races decided to merge in with the Mortal Races, while only Two races of Elves left. The Moon and Sun Elves. They both had found shelter up above the clouds on the highest peaks of the world. The Moon Elves sought to peacefully live on their own, while the Sun Elves took on a different path. The Sun Elves were angry, feeling betrayed by those who they considered family. They took on extremely elitist ways and secluding themselves from the outside world until they finally amassed enough power to begin forcing dominion over the world. This was the start of the Elven war. The battle between the Mortals and and Sun Elves lasted over 400 years with both sides leaving at a stalemate. After that many years of fighting, the Sun Elves declared a treaty with the mortal races and all Elven Races were given the right to govern themselves, releasing the other lesser blooded elven races to live without the abuse of the mortals. This had sprouted up many different elven kingdoms, and a few with very bitter feelings about the mortal race, holding up to the Elitist ways of the Sun Elves. Some Elves from both the Sun and Moon race begun to leave their solitary existence after a couple hundred years they finally begun to live with the mortal races once again. During this time, many other magical creatures had been disrupted by the destruction of mortals and had caused the protection of the Gods to waver. Many creatures of darkness had regained a footing during this time and had begun to corrupt bits of the world and its creatures. Transforming mortals into hideous beasts, conjuring creatures of darkness that feast on the minds of other, corrupting the spirit of both Fey and Man. This was also the time where the sibling Dragons of Woe were split apart. Bahamut, the platinum dragon who ruled peacefully over the metallic dragons, colluding with mortals and granting them the blood of a Dragon, and Tiamat, the 5 headed dragon, ruler of the chromatic Dragons. They were both inseparable, but Tiamat and the chromatic dragons were consumed by the blight of darkness that had begun to spread across the realm and was in fighting with her brother Bahamut. This caused a massive split within the realm as this was the beginning of their fight against good and evil once more. This complication had spurred on a great hero named Yenko, to battle on the warring dragons causing immense destruction across the land. Yenko was a gifted Sorcerer with a strong sense of moral justice. He was called upon by Tyr to stop the destruction that ensued from the uncontrollable chromatic dragons. For the next 30 years of his life, Yenko had faithfully carried out his duty to stop the destruction of the dragons and as a final stand against the dragon, alone facing against the Queen of Chroma, Tiamat, sacrificed his life to cast a wish spell that would cause the Dragons to fall into an eternal slumber. Thus beginning the 5th Era, The Great Dragon Slumber.
The 5th Era: The Great Dragon Slumber
In the 5th Era, the Races of the world began to unify once more, and for once, a new type of warrior had risen. They were called adventurers. The people called upon them to take care of any monsters that have been causing trouble amongst the land in exchange for both gold and glory. It was a dangerous job, however it was quite rewarding. With adventurers coming from different backgrounds and races, the land was always filled with exploration. Many have found community within their groups and would grow significant bonds during their travels. This was also the time when the Gods had finally began to actively support the mortals endeavors. However they still did not leave from their realm of existence, there have been times when mortals were granted great power and support by being in relation to the god themselves. The land had begun to flourish again as Adventurers took care of issues and having their travels merge with different cultures and experiences. The lands were at peace. This went on for 642 years until the Dragons finally reawoken. An Ancient blue dragon who was slumbering under the capital city of Lostalven had awakened and during it's escape from beneath, it ended up destroying half of the city and subsequently murdering the royal family and Emperor of the land. This had spurred the beginning of our current Era, the 6th Era: The Age of Awakening.
