deep down, sugawara knew daichi didn't love him anymore. daichi had been giving him the cold shoulder and only one word responses when asked a question. how did he change that fast? just a few years ago in university, he had been so sweet and kind...but now he's just cold and bitter.
sugawara sucked in a breath as he saw the blood trickle out of the cut he had accidentally made on his thumb while chopping the vegetables. he immediately went to grab a band-aid and stuck it gently onto the wound. this caused a flashback, back to when daichi cared more about him...
sugawara was trying to make a nice breakfast for daichi, since he was extremely tired the other day. 'i wonder how he'd react..' sugawara thought absent-mindedly, not realizing that the knife he was holding, was dangerously near his thumb. 'slice' sugawara yelped in surprise, it hurt badly but he didn't want to wake up daichi. unfortunately, daichi was already awake and rushed out of the room (almost tripping over air), asking sugawara if he was fine.
of course, a bandaid was nearby and daichi grabbed it and slowly wrapped it around sugawara's finger, during which he gave suga a long lecture, before pecking his finger gently to "help it heal quicker". this caused suga to blow a fuse, unresponsive and face red like a tomato. daichi gave a goofy grin and laughed heartily, enjoying sugawara's reaction.
where had those times gone? sugawara didn't understand what changed, but he liked to think the attributing factor was kuroo, a good friend of daichi's. suga was not going to lie, kuroo is a good-looking man who is extremely flirtatious, especially around daichi. suga didn't like to think that daichi might have been cheating on him but it's the only thing he could possibly consider at this point.
sugawara felt tears prick at his eyes and he was unable to hold them back. the tears flowed down his cheeks endlessly, like a river stream. he sniffled and choked out a sob as he mourned over the loss of his love. but no one would hear him. he would just go through the same repetitive motions every single day. just because he didn't want to lose the one thing he had.
