His Assistant | David Dobrik x Natalie

Chapter 3

I wouldn't have recognized him if I wasn't here with David.

"You're so different now," I say taking in his new appearance. He's thinner than ever before, and looks as though he's gotten into a few drugs since high school.

"Well is that a good thing?" He laughs, and right away his laugh brings me back to high school. It's a comforting feeling.

High school was easy, and I miss that simple life. I didn't have responsibilities, I didn't have to pay for housing, my mom made my dinners and did my laundry (I know I'm spoiled). It was just easy.

"Sure Dom," I say patting him on the shoulder, causing him to laugh again.

"Wait can you introduce us to your friend," Someone says behind me, and I turn to see Seth looking at me.

"Oh yeah. Guys this is Natalie. She finished our quartet in high school," Dom says throwing his arm around me.

Jason jumps up and gives me a hug, which is comforting since they were still staring at me awkwardly.

"Well its nice to meet you Natalie. You seem to normal to be friends with these guys," He jokes which makes me smile. He's right. I'm definitely a lot more calm than my friends, but it's just because I'm laid back and nothing really bothers me. Its hard to get me mad.
I remember back in high school, Dom made it his duty to piss me off at least once in high school.
It never happened,

I just don't understand living a crazy, and angry life. Life's too short for that.
"So are you single?" Seth asks causing my eyes to widen. I can honestly say I wasn't expecting that to come out of his mouth.
"No I'm not actually," I say with a small laugh.

"You're not?" David asks, slightly shocked. That's what happens when we don't see each other for a few years, David.

I shake my head before answering.
"I've been dating Shawn for about 3 years," I say.

"Wait, Shawn Nelson? From calculus?" Corinna asks and I nod.

"Aye he was hot," She high fives me and I laugh.

We all hang out for a while, catching up. I leave shortly after so I could start planning David's house. I don't know how long he expects me to be here, and I don't want him to feel like I'm intruding, especially since I'm staying at his house.

I grab my laptop and start looking at furniture and planning how it should go. I'm working for about an hour before David gets home and comes behind me to look at my computer.
"Whatcha doing?" He asks curiously, peering over my shoulder. I quickly close my laptop so he can't see.
"Nice try," I say causing him to stick his tongue out at me.

"Hey so Liza's coming over in a little bit is that okay?" He asks.

"Who's Liza?"

"My girlfriend?" He says as if I were supposed to know that.

"David this is your house. Why are you asking if you can have someone over?" I ask and his face gets slightly red from embarrassment.

"I know but you're staying here," He says as the front door opens.

In walks Liza, smiling at David. They really are a cute couple I will admit.

I've seen them interact in the few of David's vlogs i've actually seen.

They quickly hug and say hi before she looks over at me.

"Oh hi," She says to me, not in a snarky way like I'd expect, but more in a caring way.
I mean if I went to my boyfriend's place and saw a girl sitting on the couch that I don't know, I'd be a little concerned. So I wouldn't blame her even if she was even slightly mad.
"Hi I'm Natalie," I say getting off the couch.
"Oh I know who you are. David told me you were coming," She smiles at me, pulling me into a hug. One thing I've noticed about David's friends is that they're huggers. Not that I mind, because I am too.
We all sat on the couch, and I was about to excuse myself to the guest room so they could hang out just them, when Liza spoke up.
"So you knew David when he was younger right?" She asks and I nod.
"Liza," David warns and she ignores him.
"I need to know all the juicy gossip about David's younger self," She says wiggling her eyebrows at him and I laugh.
"If you're talking about previous girlfriends, than you've already learned everything," I say implying that he's never had a girlfriend. I mean he really hasn't had one before Liza. He dated Jenny in middle school but that doesn't really count.

Liza laughed and David's face turned the slightest shade of pink, and I really have to feel bad for him. I mean one of his best friends who knows everything about his life, even the most embarrassing parts and his girlfriend sitting there talking about him. I think I'd be the same way.

"I want to know his embarrassing moments then," She smiles evilly, and David groans.
"We'll talk later," I wink at her, and she nods greedily.

We decide to watch a movie and just hang out, especially since I'm so tired from travelling today.

It doesn't even feel like I got here today. I feel like I've been here for days now, but I guess that's what happens when David lives such a busy life.

After White Chicks ended, Liza decided to head back home, but put her name in my phone before she left.

"Don't completely take my girlfriend from me please," David jokes as we get comfortable on the cheap couches in his living room.

"Can't promise anything," I say causing him to chuckle, and that's the last thing I heard before I drifted off to a well needed slumber.

So today was my last day of class for my first semester of my junior year of college but that means exams start in a few days so I may be dead.
