Where are you Gloria?

Scene 7: The Runaway

Walking around at night, in the dark was not the easiest thing in the world, she kept tripping over rocks and twigs. Once she got into the town, it was quiet, she knew where to go from here to the spot she and Henry where the day before. Gloria decided to go to sleep for a little, she was going to need her rest for she was going to be on her own from now on, so she sat up against the tree and closed her eyes and fell asleep.

She was woken up the sound of footsteps behind her, she jumped up and turned around and was surprised to see Henry walking to her,

"Gloria?"

Gloria gave a smirk and gave a small wave,

"um...Hi"

Henry looked at her confused,

"What are you?...how did you?...did you sleep out here all night?"

"Unfortunately"

Henry started chuckling, Gloria looked at him,

"What are you laughing at?"

still chuckling Henry was able to get out the words,

"Your hair!"

Gloria blushed, and quick put the hood to her cloak up. Trying to stop laughing Henry walked over to her,

"Now come on, don't do that..."

He pulled down her hood and Gloria looked at him,

"...I think its cute"

Gloria smiled,

"Well, you know sleeping on a tree isn't the most comfortable thing in the world...and i guess its not too good for your hair!"

The two started laughing,

"What are you doing here anyway?" Gloria finally said.

"I always come here, its kind of my hide away, that's why I brought you here yesterday, but I thought that man brought you away yesterday, how come you slept here?

Gloria looked down,

"My father punished me because of seeing you, only because he wants me to marry a Knight..."

Gloria looks back up,

"...But I don't want to marry some random Knight, I believe in true love, and my father keeps taking that away from me, so I'm running away, If I have to be Queen someday I want a King that will help me rule, I want someone that actually means something to me by my side."

Henry looked down,

"Well, if you must leave, can I at least have a few more hours with you?..."

Henry looked back up at Gloria,

"...we can go for a stroll in the town, there is always something to do in the town."

"What if we get caught? What would Knight Victor and his family think of you being here with me?"

"I'm not sure what they would think, but what they don't know wont hurt them, and I really don't think Victor is into getting married, he likes to be alone, he likes to fight and be a real Knight, I don't think he would want to be King, and about you getting caught, we will watch, Please Gloria?"

Gloria sighs, than nodes her head,

"Alright"

Henry smiles and gives out a hand for her to take, Gloria takes his hand and they walk towards the town.

Gloria had never experienced the life of her people. She was living it now, Henry danced with Gloria, he had shown her the food that they ate, she saw every store that there was. She was laughing and smiling, and having the time of her life.

"Well, Hello Princess Gloria"

Gloria stopped mid-track, her

laugh stopped and she turned to the side she heard the voice, her face suddenly turned white,

"Roderick?, what are you doing here?!"

Roderick was leaning against a wall, he pushed off it and walked over to Gloria,

"I think the better question is, what is a beautiful Princess, like yourself, doing in town..."

Roderick looked at Henry

"...and with someone like this?"

Henry just looked at him with nothing to say, Gloria spoke up and said,

"Roderick, just go home, its none of your concern what I'm doing, and who I'm with"

Roderick turned around to Gloria,

"But I care about you"

he put his hand on her face, Gloria quickly pushed him away, and Henry walked closer, Gloria looked at Roderick, beginning to get mad,

"You don't care about anyone but yourself, we have gone through this before Roderick"

Roderick tried putting his hand on Gloria again, and Gloria stepped back, Henry Finally had enough, he walked over to Roderick, and put his hand on his shoulder,

"Cant you see that she doesn't want to be near you?!"

Roderick swung his arm around, and Henry ducked, Gloria gasped in fear, she got mad, and went over and pushed Roderick,

"Go Away Roderick!! Go Home!!"

Roderick tried putting his hand on Gloria again, she pulled away,

"Calm down Princess, everything is fine"

Gloria had finally had enough,

"NO! Roderick! Everything is not okay! You know why?! Because you are here! GO HOME!"

Gloria turned around and started walking the other way, Henry followed her. She walked back to the river , she knelt down and looked at her reflection in the water, Henry walked up to her, and knelt beside her,

"Are you okay?"

Gloria put her head on Henry, he tried to comfort her,

"Its okay, I'm here"

The two sat there for a good 15 minutes.

"Gloria, I thought I would find you here"

The two turned around to see Felix, Gloria was speechless, but managed to say,

"Felix...I..I.."

"Don't say anything Gloria...You..."

Felix pointed to Henry,

"...Come here"

Henry looked at Gloria and than got up and walked over to Felix. Felix took him to the side and said,

"Look, I have got to stop finding you with Gloria, I know something is going on here, and I cant have it, cause the King will have my head..."

Henry looked down,

"...Come on Gloria we are leaving."

They heard no response from Gloria, they looked over to where she was sitting. Gloria was gone. Felix ran forward in trying to find her,

"Gloria! where are you?!"

Still now answer, Felix walked back to Henry, he got frustrated,

"Your coming with me now"

and Felix started pulling Henry back to the Castle.

Meanwhile Gloria was blindfolded being dragged across the ground into the woods...
