"Do you love me?" Harry broke the silence. The tension in the air rose to an unconceivable amount. It was thick and dense with a mysterious and indefinite emotion. This emotion was what Louis had longed for since the day he was born. Everyday passed with a lingering feeling. Pulling him into that empty emotion once again. But he couldn't let it happen again. But he couldn't...

He couldn't hurt himself again.

His heart palpitated erratically in his chest. Could he let himself hurt? Could he let his heart shatter and be ripped millions of times again? Could he love again? Louis blinked back the waterfall hidden behind his eyes. His defense mechanism was failing. His bright and cheery façade was knocked clean off by this...by this...Harry. There was no other way to describe it. The husk of his former self lay limp on the ground; dead it seemed like.

Louis knew what he needed to do. He needed to turn away. He needed to get himself away from all of this.

But why did he feel such a strong force pulling him back?

But why whenever he looked at Harry his heart skipped a beat?

But why...

Did he love Harry?

Louis forced himself with all of his remaining will power to turn away. He was weaker when his eyes were trained on those green orbs that made the ripped pieces of his heart melt. Harry stared forward. Harry looked... hopeful. It hurt Louis so much to turn away. He felt his heart breaking once further. He wondered what that fist-shaped organ looked liked at that time. Louis was sure that it was in more than a million pieces after...her. How could it get ripped to shreds even further?

"Give me a chance, Lou." Harry's voice cracked imperceptibly. He tried his best to stay strong, but it all came crashing down on him.

Louis looked at the wall of the room. The cacography on the wall spoke volumes to him. Hurt. Pain. Heartbreak.

"No, Harry. I'm sorry."

And with that, Louis left, without shouting "YAAAAAASSSS I MEAN SORRY I REALLY SLIPPED THERE HAHA!" before that.

Harry pumped his fist into the air joyfully, the hurt look on his face instantly replaced by one of pure happiness.
