Chapter 10 Court
"Okay, kids. Pair up!" Mr. Frogco blew his whistle and I found Patrick beside me.
"Hey! Trish! Do you want to pair up?" I call Patrick Trish. It's is his female name.
"Uh. I kind of have Iman for a pair. Hihihihi. Right Iman?" Trish grabbed Iman's arm and Iman just said yes. Aw man. Who am I going to pair up with now? I walked then sat on the bench on the bleachers. I put my elbows on my legs and rested my chin using my hands. This is so sad.
I searched the whole court, looks like everyone has a pair. Sad. I looked around and skimmed the area. I saw Ken surrounded by girls. Ugh. Ewww. I wish John was here. Too bad, he's a senior. Aw man. I'm going to suck at basketball. I can't even reach even if I throw the ball and shoot it. I'm so weak. Almost everybody has a pair right now. Nooo! I hate being short. Nobody wants me! Curse basketball!
"Hey. I promised I'd help you." Someone from behind poked me. I glanced but then I ignored it. Wait! Was that Ken? I faced him back. I flushed, my face turned red and my eyes went owl.
"I... Uh..." I lost my words.
"Here." He gave me his hand so I can get up. This time, I accepted it. "Let's go."
He was still holding my hand and I tried to hide my blush. I tried but failed. This is so romantic. Wait! ROMANTIC?! Since when did I know these words are in my vocabulary!? Oh my sheezers. "Everyone got a partner already?" Mr Frogco asked.
"Yes sir." Everyone said in unison except me. I was deep in my thoughts. Grr.
"Okay. Everyone. Jog the court 5 times then get a ball and practice dribbling with your partner." Mr Frogco blew his whistle again then glared at Ken.
He came near us and talked to Ken. "You know that you have a game in two days right? You're exempted. You don't have to go today."
Ken gave Mr. Frogco his million dollar smile. "I like basketball, sir and I would like to play today. "
"Alright." Mr Frogco gave Ken a confused and curious look. " Go now." Mr Frogco gave Ken a hand signal to go and Ken thanked him.
"Let's go." I jogged with Ken and I made my distance. I kind of really don't feel about being too close to him because it feels like a danger zone.
Whenever I go near him, I would receive glares from everyone. So, when I go less than a meter near him, that's The danger zone and I die. If looks can kill, I would be double dead. "Elsie wait!" I looked back and realized that Ken was a way behind me so I slowed down a little. I haven't realized that I was running fast.
"You're fast, hobbit. You should try tracks." Ken was once again beside me and I kept on having glares again. Ugh.
"No thanks. It would waste my time." We jogged together.
"Hey, Kenny, do you mind?" Another cheerleader who came from nowhere said when she was running in pace with us. Her chest was literally going up and down and it was obvious that she was seducing him and luring him into something. While running, Ken glanced at the blonde cheerleader then turned and raised an eyebrow at me. I felt like he was asking permission. I gave him an I-don't-know-look.
"I mind." Ken told the cheerleader and once again, I was shocked. Ken would never turn down a hot plastic blonde cheerleader. That's a first. Ken motioned his head to say that we had to go faster. So we did and when we were done, we went to the bleachers to sit.
