She awakened clueless to her surroundings. The only thing vividly apparent on her mind was her first name. Nothing else.  Parent's name? Current location? Her house? No. Nothing. This was rather peculiar, perhaps it was just a fragment of her imagination. Perhaps if she closed her eyes long enough she would return to the comfort of her home, wherever it maybe, and to her beloved parents, whoever they maybe. Unsure of what else to do she decided it would be best to just walk around. So the little girl was off wandering around aimlessly strangely enough not really fearing for her life as the cool breeze brushed ever so gently on her petite frame.  "What was happening?" the girl thought to herself. With a million thoughts and possibilities racing through her mind she became so unaware of herself that she ended up hitting a giant tree trunk. You've probably heard of the cliché, that if you hit your head hard enough you might just come back to sanity but alas, not in this case as all that was left an unbearable feeling of wretchedness lingering at the back of head.

Looking up at the tree that had literally appeared out of nowhere, the girl could bet that it was no ordinary tree. It had a significant spark to it but she couldn't just put her finger on it. Perhaps it was the fact that the leaves grew ever so lightly but lively at the same time. The leaves seemed to have resembled a somewhat protective cage. Odd. What bothered her the most was that it was the only tree in sight that looked healthy compared to the others that had no peck of life in them whatsoever. It then hit the girl that there was no living human within that distance that could have been responsible for this utterly absurd act. The girl's fondness towards the tree made her oblivious to the fact that an uncanny figure was approaching her.

"Who might you be little one?" asked the perplexing form scaring the living daylight from the poor girl. Speechless the girl stayed put as though she had just been petrified by a Harry Potter spell.

"I.... I....I t...think I'm lost" said the girl after mustering all the courage she had. Now that she was face to face with the creature, she could get a clear glimpse of what he looked like. He was rather intimidating to say the least. He had sharp claws that could surely kill her just with a swift gesture, red demeaning eyes that held no sign of mercy and a bright yellow beak. He looked half human and half bird which the girl could already presume was not a prevailing thing. She was all so fascinated by his un-humanly state.

"What do you mean you're lost?" The saying 'silence is sometimes the best answer' really lived up to its meaning as the birdlike creature understood that she had no idea at all. Instead, he assured her that he'd get her out of there safe and sound as fast as he could. This came as shock, pleasant, but still shock to the girl as she somewhat expected atrocious behaviour judging by the varmint's beastly look. He then proceeded to walk along a narrow path which the young girl interpreted as a sign for her to follow him. Along the bumpy path, it had occurred to the girl that the habitat was quite empty and lacking marvellous trees that calm and soothe you in your everyday jungle.
