Becky was out working in the garden when suddenly a hand clamped over her mouth. She instantly started to fight, but she was no match for her attacker. She was roughly dragged out of the garden and into a clearing where, several men, who were crudely dressed, stood. One man, in particular, caught Becky's eye, He had darker skin, an untamed head of dark hair, a long black beard and dark eyes that seemed to cut through you. Becky knew exactly who he was. She had heard stories about him for many years, this was Blackbeard. He was a fierce and cruel pirate, he had ransacked towns, carried off men and women doing whatever he pleased with them.

"Well, what do 'e have 'ere? A fine young maiden. Nice work m', lads, take her to m' ship." Blackbeard said, interrupting Beck's thoughts. Becky started to kick again and managed to step on a couple of unfortunate toes, but Blackbeard took no notice and headed towards the beach, leaving Becky forcefully made to follow. As they got to the beach, Blackbeard turned around and flicked his left hand to the man holding Becky as if to signal him. Then all of the sudden before Becky could cry out, something hard and cold struck Becky's head, and everything went black...!

Becky wouldn't know till later that it had been several hours that she had been unconscious. When she did wake up she found herself in a small room with only a bed. The walls were plain and only a small window looked out on the ocean. Becky's head hurt from the blow which had struck her hours before. She tried to stand and barely succeeded. The whole room seemed to be moving; Becky suspected she was on the Queen Ann's Revenge, which was the name of Blackbeard's ship. Despite her headache and the growling of her now empty stomach, Becky ran to a door on the far wall and tried the knob. It was, to her surprise, unlocked. She swung the door open and stepped out into fading sunlight. She found herself on the deck of the Queen Ann's Revenge surrounded by the pirate crew she had 'met' a few hours earlier. At the helm, Blackbeard took notice of Becky and came down to greet her, "So, the sleeper decided to wake, did ye."

Becky mustered all her courage and replied, "You knocked me out, have taken me captive, away from everyone and everything I love. That was a cruel and horrible thing to do. You are a rude, cruel, and selfish man! It's a good thing I didn't expect more of you, I would have been horribly disappointed!" Blackbeard looked surprised by her outburst at first then he began a hearty laugh. Becky now insulted said, "You dare laugh at me. After everything you have done to me, you still have the nerve to laugh?"

Blackbeard made a lazy reply, "Ye got some sass to ye. It's quite entertainin'. Now I like me bit o sass." Becky went over his words again in her mind. Everything he said gave her chills. Lastly, Blackbeard said, "Feel free to explore m' ship. It's quite perty as ye can see." Blackbeard started to walk away when Becky made her voice work one last time,

"I don't think the words 'Feel free' exactly work in that sentence." Blackbeard gave another laugh and walked away. Becky went to the side of the ship to look at the ocean. It was massive and beautiful. The salty sea air swept Becky's dark brown hair across her shoulders. Her bright green eyes, which now had a look of sadness in them gazed out on the glittering ocean. Her tan skin and her full red lips completed the picture. Becky wondered would she ever make it home again.

Days went by. Becky was a little concerned because Blackbeard's men had barely even noticed her. Blackbeard gave more notice to her then she would have liked, which unnerved Becky. She would have expected herself to be locked in a cell or something. But what Blackbeard had said to her that she could freely explore the ship turned out to be true. Besides all that, Becky decided to walk around. Becky was walking on the deck, where she thought she was alone when she heard two people talking near the mast of the ship. Curiosity piqued, Becky snuck behind some barrels to listen. The two voices she heard sounded like one of Blackbeard's men and the other Becky knew for certain was Blackbeard himself. Becky heard Blackbeard say,

"I want ye to prepare the deck for a wedding that will be held on the 'morrow." Becky wasn't sure what she was hearing. The conversation continued, only this time it was the shipmate speaking,

"But what fer captain? Who's marry'in whom?"

Blackbeard made a stern reply, "Me ye idiot!! I'm marryin' that women we have captive."

The shipmate sounded a bit surprised but answered, "But why would she marry ye? You're a pirate, and you did take her captive. She's not going to like it."

Blackbeard now fuming said, "Ye do as ye told! No more of ye stupid questions ye hear. Prepare the deck!" Blackbeard walked past where Becky was hiding. It was a miracle he didn't see her. Becky felt sick to her stomach, and it wasn't because of the constant rocking of the ship. She couldn't get her mind around the fact that Blackbeard wanted to marry her! What a sick thing to do. Becky made up her mind, she needed an escape plan, and soon!
