"Suki! Hurry up in there! Your gonna be late for school!" My step-mother rushed. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" I responded as I grabbed my backpack. I missed having it on my back, but that could damage them for all I know.
I ran out the front door and hopped into my mom's silver car. "What took you so long?" She bickered while she started up the car and drove out of the parkway. "It takes time to wake up and be ready to leave in less than 20 minutes!" I snapped back. "Fine then! But you better be ready for tomorrow though!" My step-mother challenged.
We rode in silence for the rest of the way. It was a small drive anyways. I got out of the car and sighed a goodbye. I held my backpack by the strap and walked out to first period. It was going to be a long day.
I couldn't wait for flying practice after school. Although it was difficult getting through the school day with wings, I know it was my fault I had them.
Wings are a blessing, but also a curse.
