Judy Hawthorn, daughter of the famous lawyer Melony Hawthorn, departs from her home planet Sanctuary, the Golden Utopia of the Vega System, to the backwater mining planet of Trion for her first big-time case: The Mining Guild of Trion vs Martin T Gerard.
Judy stepped up and straightened her suit shaking as she began to walk over to the stand this was her first big case and she didn't want to look weak. Judy was a young slim woman with olive skin and long rich hazel hair that she had tied back into a braided ponytail descending down to her shoulders she had a steel tinge to her blue eyes with tints of green. She wore a fashionable grey suit and a small platinum chain with a light blue Crystal hidden around her neck. As she made her way up to stand a young police officer sternly announces to the room full of eager and hungry reporters: "Miss Hawthorn will now answer your questions."
"Miss Hawthorn, I am Abigail, Planet Sanctuary News. May I ask why you have decided to support the terrorist Monk Martin T Gerard?" a loud female voice shouts from the flock of reporters.
"Yes, I believe the so-called terrorist Martin T Gerard is being falsely accused of killing the five mining guild officials and twenty others in the bombing of the sky yacht unity," Judy replies.
The room hushes to silence after her claims of his innocence, like a calm before a storm almost as if all the room was swept away by a large gust of wind. Then out of the silence came one small voice.
"Ah Miss Hawthorn, before it was mentioned that neither Trion nor sanctuary governments can offer full twenty-four-hour protection for you. And Trion is not known for its safety are you worried about this? And what alternatives are you looking into?"
Judy straitens herself up and looks upon the gawking reporters and replies "I have sent out several applications for a security contractor but have had no luck so far but am not out of options I am currently looking down alternative avenues."
As Judy wraps up her response a rustic voice interrupts her and overpowers the flock of reporters in a screeching rude tone "Why the fuck are you supporting this hypocritical terrorist? Are you a supporter of his atrocity Miss Hawthorn? Do you not see the blood on his hands?"
Judy went pail and froze in response to the comment. The room stood in deafening silence uncertain about what the man said. The silence was broken as a tall, dark-skinned man steps down from the stand and points directly at the man that sprouted the hateful comment. In a deep, stern authoritarian voice demands,
"Security! Please escort this gentleman off the premises!"
Two officers' step from the back of the room and kindly ask the man to accompany them. With a stern look to Judy, he mumbles, "You can't make this disappear Miss Hawthorn" before being dragged out of the room by the two men. Shortly after, one of the men slowly prods the door open and with a simple nod to the dark-skinned officer asks, "Anything else captain?"
"No, that is all Edwards. Dismissed."
The captain turns back to the crowd of reporters and announces: "Miss Hawthorn will no longer be answering questions. Go home you scavengers!" in a demeaning tone.
He turns back around slowly and walk towards Judy and stops and reaches out his hand saying, "Captain Reginald Cain at your service."
She takes his hand and replies, "Judy Hawthorn, thank you for that Captain. I got overwhelmed so fast I couldn't think."
With a strange look of surprise, he responds, "Don't mention it. The reporters here are savages. Today is your proof of that."
