back story:
two years ago, mika and her parents got into a car accident, caused by a drunk driver. Mika was the only survivor. She was adopted by her auntie and uncle once discharged from the hospital and moved into their house. She lived with her cousin yuki who she'd met before and was very nice. All seemed good until she awoke that night to her drunk auntie.
"it's your fault!" she whispered. She glared at her and threw an empty wine bottle at the wall beside her. Mika was frozen in fear, not knowing what to do or what she had done.
"it's all your fault! Your mother is dead because of you!" she yelled, now enraged with anger and disgust. She grabbed mika's hair and dragged or out the guest room, down the stairs and threw her out the back door. Mika cried in shock and fear as her auntie told her to sleep out there like the dirty mutt she is. Mika barely slept, she was freezing cold, begging for her mother and father to come back.
Her "family" started to abuse her, constantly. Her uncle would hit her and call horrible names. Her cousin, yuki, who she had foolishly believed was nice would laugh at her in school saying things like 'go back to your real family, oh wait you can't! Cause they're dead'. Her auntie blamed everything on mika, why her parents died, why everyone bullied her, why her family abused her. She eventually renamed her shisubo, meaning both death and despair. This carried on for two years, she had many scars, and bruises covering her body.
