in which the boys react to effie's album

*this takes place on the day before she drops her album*

"okay, are you ready?" effie brought in all 9 members, excited and nervous to react to her first solo album since joining stray kids. 

effie was extremely proud of this album, since she felt as if her music and rapping has improved a lot more. she was also extremely nervous about her songs that contained her singing. she had never shown the boys - except woojin - her voice while singing. none of her members helped her, or even heard any of the songs she made for this album, which was so different to her routine, as she would usually show 3racha her lyrics while creating them.

"okay, this is the first one - it's called 'how do you feel'," effie hesitantly moved her finger towards the play button before minho rolled his eyes and pushed his finger on hers, pressing the play button for her.

oh god. 

effie was so nervous that her hands were shaking. jisung noticed this and immediately held her hands as support as the first notes came out of the speaker. effie gave him a weak smile, and wondered why she was so nervous. it was her members, and she trusted them to at least be supportive of one song.

as the first song on the tracklist went on, the maknae of the group glanced at her with sad, puppy eyes. he was obviously feeling sadness for her, and he didn't want effie to go through something like that. but since he couldn't do anything about it other than hug her later on, he stared at his hands with sad eyes.

as the first song ended, effie held her hands to stop changbin from speaking, "i'll hear what you think about at the end, okay?" changbin nodded his head, as did seungmin.

effie pressed the play button once again, music streaming out of the speakers again. 'pathetic' started playing, and jisung let go of her hand and started bopping his head to the music, not seeming to care that he accidentally hit hyunjin's head as he waved his arms around.

soon enough, the song ended and the leader looked at her confusingly, "you had a boyfriend or something? because i'll kill him." effie laughed, "it's not a real incident that happened to me, dude. don't worry, take off your 'serial killer' mask and put on your 'derp chan' one, okay?"

effie sighed, looking at the tracklist, "okay jeongin, close your ears because i swear in this and i don't need your ears to be-" jeongin rolled his eyes, "effie! i'm not two years old!"

effie looked at him and laughed, "could have fooled me with that face," then played the song before the youngest could retaliate. jeongin fake-pouted at the older girl, then focused on the music, ears probably looking for where she swore in the song. 

although the song wasn't 'sung,' it was more of a slow rap, the boys seemed to enjoy it nevertheless. effie caught woojin looking shocked at the beginning when she said the words he was dreading. effie almost laughed at felix's eyes widen when he heard the phrase. but as all songs do, it came to an end.

she played them two more songs, 'cause' almost causing changbin to cry, as he looked at her with teary eyes, as 'tired of sleeping' had a funky tune to mask the sad lyrics, which made the members jump up and start dancing with her while simultaneously hugging her.

soon enough, it was the song that effie worried about the most. the song that showcased her vocals. effie took a deep breath, gave woojin a knowing look, and pressed play.

humming emerged from the speakers, filling the room with a certain mood nobody could identify. it was the feeling you got when you were awake at 3 in the morning, wearing oversized pyjamas while listening to soft piano music through your headphones, feeling so tired, yet so awake at the same time.

the boys, one by one, looked up at her in amazement as she didn't meet their gaze, as she was occupied with rubbing her palms as a sort of coping mechanism. as the song ended, she slowly turned her head first towards chan, who had his eyes widened to the fullest extent. then to changbin, as he bit his nails, looking down at his lap, probably wondering if that was effie who was singing. her eyes drifted towards minho who smiled at her as if she were the most talented person to have been born. jisung's mouth was gaping at her, starstruck. seungmin had his hands in his hair in shock, while felix furrowed his eyebrows at the girl in confusion as the last notes were being played. woojin just stared at her, a small smirk on his face as if to say, ' that's right, bitch.' hyunjin and jeongin were just gripping each other's arms in pure shock.

"wow,"  hyunjin was the first to speak. then, all the words came at once.

"woah!"

"you lied to us, you can sing!"

"okay, wow."

"i told you she could sing, and you never believed me."

"i think my ears just experienced what heaven is."

effie shushed them with a blushing face, "no comments until the end, idiots." felix piped up,"you're the idiot for saying you can't sing."

as her last song played through the speakers, the all hugged her, and encouraged her to release the album as soon as possible. one by one, the members filed out of the room, leaving two rappers in the studio.

"i'm really proud of you, sleepyhead. you really outdid yourself this time." chan ruffled her hair, an action that effie had become used to over the years. hearing his words, she felt elated. effie always seeked approval from others, a bad habit she attained over the years.

"thanks, channie. let's go home before jisung and minho burn down the house," effie grabbed his hand and led him out of the studio, towards the elevator. what both of them didn't hear, was two clicks of a camera, capturing them together.

as they reached the dorms, they caught sight of woojin at the counter, looking at them. the vocalist suddenly spoke up, looking at her with a stern gaze, "about the sink thing-"
