(Y/N)'s P.O.V
It was around a couple of days since I declared that I was to march into battle with my troops and to say morale was high was an understatement. It was exceptional! I looked around the barracks and couldn't help but let my own smile etch itself onto my face as my troops laughed, chatted and joked without a worry in sight. An hour till we had to march off to the Northern river in which my scouts have said the rebels were holding out there and unsuspecting a surprise attack. My wolf purred at her excitement that she felt. There was something about being involved in a conflict was so...thrilling.
"Are you ready?" Camila interrupted my thoughts, causing me to turn round and be greeted with her small smile. I returned it with a smirk of my own.
"I was born ready Camila." A small chuckle left her lips before she placed her hand on my shoulder, patting it softly.
"Just come back in one piece. I don't want to be scraping you off that battlefield." I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her comment. "Seriously, this should be an easy battle but-"
"Expect the unexpected. I know Camila. Chill. Everything will be fine I promise." Again, Camila smiles at my comment before patting my shoulder once more before wishing me luck and leaving me to my own devices.
It wasn't long until my peaceful silence was broken by my brother, Josh, bounding up to me, a smile wide upon his face. After I took the throne, my brother and I had bonded together and we were inseparable. At a grand age of 14, he was starting to resemble our mother and my heart swelled at the thought of our parents seeing how far we've come and how proud they'd be.
"Are you ready (Y/N/N)?" A small voice crack came from him through the words 'ready' causing him to blush bright red, embarrassed. All I could do was laugh out loud, ruffling his hair gently.
"Of course young Prince." He struggled as I pulled him into a bear hug. Josh tried his best to pull away but to no luck, he relaxed within my arms.
"Do you really have to wear black?" Clad in a black muscle t-shirt and jeans, I frowned at him slightly.
"What's wrong with this? I am going into battle so I won't be wearing any fancy clothing. Plus I need to shift remember?" Realisation poured into his expression while his mouth made an 'o' shape causing me to chuckle.
"That makes sense." I finally loosened my grip on Josh, allowing him to break free and straighten out his clothes. "You show those rebels what you're made of (Y/N/N)." His time was full of darkness and a menacing look overwhelmed his features.
I raised an eyebrow at his expression, which he found absolutely hilarious as he bursted out laughing, clutching onto his stomach causing my own laughter to fill the air.
Not long after he calmed down, a sweet alluring smell filled my senses. My eyes started to wonder in search for my mate and once we connected, a wide smile overtook my face.
"I'll leave you two be." The faint sound of Josh's voice broke my gaze for a fraction of a second before refocusing back in on Lauren.
Strutting up towards me caused a wave of butterflies to fill my stomach. I don't think I'll ever get used to the sensation. Once she was only a few centimetres always from me, I automatically wrapped my arms around her waist whilst hers wrapped around my neck.
It was if there wasn't a care in the world as we held each other. I wasn't Queen. There were no rebels to worry about. It was just Lauren and I in a blissful silence.
"Come back to me..." Her gaze was strong and so many emotions were flowing within that ocean of green and gold. Gently cupping her cheek, I placed a soft, tender kiss upon her lips before leaning my forehead against hers.
"Always..."

We must have been only 10km away from the Northern River and to say the noise I could hear coming from the rebels was unbelievable. There was loud chants and singing of how they wished me to be killed or taken down.
To say that my troops were furious was an understatement. Werewolves were bursting to shift and Vampires fangs were already fully elongated and were just begging for them to sink into one of the rebels' throat.
"Don't worry. We'll soo have our teeth in their throats." I husked deeply, my eyes turning into a deep crimson colour. My canines were fully elongated as I crouched down by a a bush, covering myself from the rebels' view. We had to make this quick before they could smell us.
One of the generals crouched down beside me, waiting for my order to launch the attack. I watched the rebels for a while, noticing how they were merrily drinking and singing causing me to smirk. They won't know what hit them.
Giving over a swift nod to the general, he stood up before semi shifting and releasing a loud growl causing a cannon of my own troops' growls. I couldn't help but release my own, overpowering everybody else's causing the rebels to fall silent.
This was gonna be good.

It must have been around a couple of hours of fighting before the rebels began fleeing or were surrendering. Cheers had erupted from my troops and I couldn't help but smile while the relished in their victory.
"Your majesty. We have one of the rebels who organised the attack." One of my generals boomed, while there was the obvious sound of someone struggling against the guards hold.
Turning to face the rebel, I was surprised to see a girl who was a similar age to me. Chocolate dark skin and the same coloured eyes defined her features beautifully. It was for certain that whoever got her as her mate was one lucky soul.
"What's your name?"
A hiss came from the girl, fangs bared out towards me, confirming she was a vampire. My troops kept a firm grip on the girl.
"Normani..."
