With my still trembling, cold body I get of the horse. One of the guards goes inside to check if I really was supposed to be here. I look down at my feet and they have turned blue. The ride to the castle luckily wasn't that long but still I can't wait to sit next to the fireplace.

''Princess we can go inside now. The King and Queen are waiting for you in the throne room.'' 4 guards walk in front of me guiding the way. The first thing you see when you walk in the castle is a ginormous staircase with a big red carpet, incredible paintings on the ceiling and walls surrounding it and also large windows that let the light in.

I am sure my mouth must have been open because the guard next to me whispers ''I know, impressive right?'' He laughs a little at my stunned nod. Going up the stairs I feel how exhausted I actually am. How beautiful this is, I don't like it now I am using it.

''Don't worry were almost there.'' The same guard says as he probably notices my fatigue state. I give him a small smile as he gives me an opportunity to lean on his arm. I wave him off, not really wanting to give in how tired a really am.

Suddenly the two guards in front stop and knock two times and the big wooden doors in front of us. The doors are being opened from the inside. The room first didn't seem like much until the guards stepped away a little and then I saw how beautiful is actually is. The room is bright with golden details everywhere. I look up at the ceiling and the only thing visible is the outside. Is the ceiling made of glass?

''Presenting Princess Adelyne Eleanora Fortescue, 7th child of king Henry Adam Fortescue and queen Eleanor Fortescue from Bellmare.'' I look straight ahead and see the I assume king and queen looking at me. Not really knowing what to do because of my lack of meeting a king and queen other than my parents before, I curtsy.

''Welcome princess Adelyne. How was your trip?'' The king asks while the queen is eying me from head to toe.

''It could have been better your highness.'' I say leaving the gruesome details out of it for now.

''I am guessing that is why you are dressed in this way. Without shoes and a dress that is ripped everywhere.'' The queen states.

''Yes, it is your highness. I would have changed but I had to leave my belongings behind in my carriage in order to get away.'' The king and queen look at each other before the king starts to speak again.

''What happened child?'' He asks me gently.

''We were riding through the forest at night because we were behind schedule because of a broken wheel.''

''We?'' The queen interrupts.

''Yes, my guards and I.'' She nods slowly for me to continue. ''I was asleep when I felt the horses suddenly stop and make a lot of noise. Then I heard one of my guards yell that I should hide. I did and was able to escape before the man, that attacked my guards, could slice me in pieces with their swords. Excuse my language.''
