You walk towards Doctor Eric’s shop. You must really enjoy that place. Speaking of enjoying things, you are reminded how you enjoyed Amy’s presence today.
Seriously, I have other things to do. Can we just get to where I need to go.
Touchy. Fine, you arrive at the shop. There are three guards standing outside the door. Looks like your message from last time was delivered, and they aren’t pleased to hear that you are around. Thankfully, you have been walking in the shadows, so none of them have seen you yet. You are thankful for the cloud cover that is hiding the stars tonight.
I sneak around to the back of the shop, taking the alleys and back roads.
A few loose stones almost give your position away, but you safely make it to the back. The brick walls are covered in ivy, leading up the windows above.
I climb up the ivy into a window. Being silent as I go.
You ignore the pain in your shoulder and wrists, and make it into the window.Fortune is on your side, for you have climbed into Sarah’s room. She is sleeping soundly in the bed to your left. She is not as pale as she was before, with more color returned to her face. She looks peaceful, calm. To your right is a guard, who is facing the door. He did not notice your arrival.
I crawl silently under Sarah’s bed.
You are safe, for now.
I wait.
In a few minutes you hear the guard yawn and say under his breathe, “Man I hate this job. I can’t wait until I’m reinstated as a knight. Guarding is so boring. I would much rather be in the Capitol, clearing out the mess there.”
I wait more, until something happens.
Two hours pass, with no action. You can now agree with the guard that this is a boring job. Finally, you hear him say something again, this time sounding a little annoyed. “Where is my replacement? My shift is almost over. I don’t want to miss out on anymore sleep than I already have.”
“Here I am!” I throw my voice to behind the door.
You can’t throw your voice through objects. That’s impossible. Try again.
I throw my voice as if I am right by the door.
Better. “About time, come in already.” He says.
“Come out here.” I throw my voice again.
“Why? I still have to keep guard.”
“Just get out here.”
“No. Just come in here so I can go home already.”
“I can’t, my hands are full.”
“With what? Just set it down.”
“Nevermind.” I climb out from under the bed and knock him out with my fist.
He falls to the ground with a thud. The princess stirs.
I pick up the princess and take her out the window and onto the roof.
Your shoulder shoots with pain when you pick her up, it also doesn’t help you climb out of the room. Also, Sarah awakens as you climb out. “What-what’s going on?” She yawns, but then, realizing where she is, she screams. “Wait! Put me down! Help!”
I put my hand over her mouth. “Quiet.” I move towards the center of the roof, away from where the guards are.
Sarah tries to escape by wiggling free and tries to scream for help, but only succeeds in looking like a mute dying fish.
