~Auburn POV
"Heaven, what do you think of mommy dating Andreas?" I asked her as I played with her hair.
"Why are you dating? What about daddy?" She asks pretty upset.
Maybe it's time to just tell her the truth. It could only get worse if I continue to lie. I feel she's mature enough to know, but I don't want to scare her. Damn, I hate this conversation but if I can get her to understand, she'll be fine? Here goes nothing.
"You remember when I told you that we should change our names so daddy wouldn't find us until he got better?" I asked as I turned her around to face me. She nodded and looked deep into my eyes, I can't go back now.
"Well, we actually ran away from daddy." I paused to see the disappointed expression on her face.
"Why did we run away from daddy. Don't you love him mommy?"
"I...I did Heaven, but daddy's love hurt a lot. Daddy, he didn't love me, because he made me cry all the time. When you love somebody, you don't make them cry and wake up hurt." I sighed and continued. "Daddy, really loved you Heaven, and he would never hurt you. But, he couldn't stop hurting me and he always spent the night at other ladies houses." I explained.
"He had sleep overs mom?" She asked confused and I nodded. "How did daddy hurt you?"
"Those sleepovers were like the ones he and I use to have. But he wasn't just sleeping over with me anymore and that broke my heart. He would always hit me, and men aren't suppose to hit woman. You know all those times I spent in the doctors?" She nodded again. "That was all daddy. We can't ever go back to daddy because he will hurt mommy so much more if he see's me. So this is between you and I, our secret. Okay?"
"Pinky promise mommy." She held out her pinky and I linked mine with hers. I held her closely and kissed her forehead and cried. I hate that I have to do this to her, spending the rest of our lives as a lie, but I can't risk him finding us.
Heaven fell asleep a few minutes later so I turned on the tv and flipped through channels. I stopped when I saw my face on E! News. Panick wasn't even a start to how I was feeling right now. I turned it up to hear what Guiliana was saying.
In other news, Andreas Santana and a new girl on his arm? This mysterious beauty just came out of no where and is the talk of the town.
Inside sources say the two were spotted at Sundial a week ago and later seen at August Alsina's house party. Aren't they cute or what? Hopefully we'll see more of them, can't wait to get in touch with Andreas about his beautiful mystery woman.
I turned off the tv and lost all control of my breathing. The only thing on my mind right now is if Demetrius saw this. I hope not because if so, I'm either screwed or on the run again.
He's so self-centered that he watched just to make sure he's on there. I pray to God he does not find me, I can't run anymore. Just then my phone rings causing me to jump, getting out of my thoughts. I glanced over at Heaven, still asleep, I picked up my phone hesitantly. I answered it without looking at the caller ID.
"H-Hello?" I studder into the phone.
"Hey, Auburn. You okay?" I recognized that voice anywhere and I instantly calmed down.
"Hey, Andreas, I'm fine. What's up?"
"I was wondering if you and Heaven wanted to go for ice cream and a movie."
"That sounds pretty fun, when?"
"How about I come get you guys in 20." He offers hopefully.
