"What're we doing today, Joseph?" Leslie was laying on her back on top of the tattered, red sofa. She sat up, moving her straight, red hair out of her face. Her big blue eyes were focused on him as she had asked him so. Leslie had a purple tank top on, and short jean shorts, and her hair in a bun. She seemed fairly comfortable around Joseph in her casual clothes.

Joseph pressed his lips together, thinking and contemplating. The boy had black hair, dark brown eyes, and was wearing a black t-shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans. He wiped the sweat off his forehead. The two were inside of a shed with no air conditioning. They had always considered it their secret base of sorts. "How about we call the others, and we hang around town?" A smile appeared on Joseph's face. He was always curious about what his friends were up to. He never thought of himself as nosy, even if others considered him as such.

Leslie nodded, pulling out her bright pink cell phone. She moved her thumbs rather quickly to type a message in the group's chat. "Michael, Trevor, Anne! Get your asses over to the base. Joseph and I are waiting for you guys."

Joseph smiled at how direct Leslie was, as he was in the group's chat also. He stood up from the sofa, stretching. The children in the group being thirteen to fourteen, they were allowed more freedoms, such as being out alone as they were currently. Leslie got up, standing next to Joseph. "How about we take a walk outside?" She asked, still smiling. Without another word, she had grabbed Joseph by the wrist and led him outside to take a stroll.

Joseph had always enjoyed nature, like Leslie. They actually had a lot in common. They both liked books, video games, the same type of music, and so on.
