I clicked my lamp on and sat up in my bed. My blinds pulled and curtains down made my room pitch black, I turned to my side table and noticed it was gone. The little spider had disappeared. I felt a part of me miss it, and I stared at my arm which had cuts, side by side, all the way up to my shoudler. Each time I feel, I whispered to myself as I pulled my dagger to add to my collection. I felt the emotion of longing for something disappear. I felt good again. I felt it disappear as blood ozzed from the fresh cut. The cut from yesterday still stung like hell. I stood up and started to walk for the door, but I tripped over somethign furry on my bedroom floor. I stood up quickly in confusion. I stared out my door for a moment, fighting the urge to turn around and see what I tripped over. I'm alone, I asked myself. How can there be something furry like an animal in my house? Everything is locked down. Nothing bigger than a spider can get in. I faced my confusion and turned around to see a black wolf laying comfortable by my bed staring up at me with beautiful blue eyes. I tilted my head in pure confusion. I got down on one knee and looked at the creature.

"What are you doing here, fellow?" I asked. The creature tilted its head.

I stared at it for the longest time. It stared back. After minutes of blank staring the wolf put its head down and closed its eyes. I felt something fuzzy inside me. Not an emotion really, or a feeling, just something fuzzy. This wolf caused me to feel something, and I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I watched as it breathed in and out. It shifted it's position servel times.

"Hey." I said firmly, the wolf perked up and looked at me with it's beautiful blue eyes. "Try the bed, pup." I tapped my bed trying to let the wolf know it was allowed. It just stared. "Whatever. Don't say I didn't offer." I stood and left the room.

I didn't really care that I had a a large wolf in my room. Not really at least, I mean a little bit, but I'll force it out later. I entered the kitchen and opened my fridge to pull out a piece of pie. My last piece of pie. I heard sharp claws on my wooden floor and I turned to see the wolf staring at me with it's head tilted in curiosity. I stared back at the wolf. I said 'what' and then wolf lifted it's lips...as if to smile. I was shocked that the wolf reacted to me speaking. I looked at it, then looked at the piece of pie in my hands. I turned and pulled a plate from the cabinet, not for myself however...I would just eat the pie of the plate it's on. No, I was going to share the pie. Yeah, I know right? Me? Sharing? Crazy. However, I liked the feeling this creature gave me. It felt, well, good to not be alone. I walked out to my dining room table and took a seat. The wolf followed and sat on the floor. It leaned up and rested it's face on my leg while I was sitting. I looked down at it. I never realized how it felt to have an animal around. I have only ever had a pet raven, and that didn't end well. The raven died fo starvation...which is the reason why I am sharing my pie. I continued to stare into the wolf's beautiful blue eyes. How unique, I thought to myself. Beautiful blue eyes on a pitch black wolf. I smiled inside and I felt the warm fuzzy feeling again. It felt...good. I used a fork to slice a small bite of the pie and then placed it in my hand. I lowered my hand to the wolf's level and the wolf stared at it but didn't move towards it. The wolf kept glancing at me, then at the pie, then back at me.

"Here," I said aloud. "Eat it, please." I said, and as soon as I did the wolf gently ate the piece of pie out of my hand. I smiled. I actually smiled at the creature. "If you're gonna stick around..." I reached out my hand to stroke down the back of it's neck. "You need to be good. I don't like messes or noise." I looked into it's eyes. "Understood?" The wolf moved it's lips into a smile-like form again and I just glared. "None of that, it's...creepy." I said and the wolf tilted it's head. I pet it's head again and the wolf licked my hand.

I picked up my cell phone and dialed the man's number. He answered softly, almost like a whisper.

"Hello?" he said. "I'm at work."

"Sorry to bother you, Ryan, but this is of great importance. I wanted to let you know that I ahve accepted your job offer and the target will be handled by sundown."

"Wow! That fast?" He sounded happier suddenly. "Thank you."

"Of course, a payment is required." I said deeply while I reached out to pet the wolf's head again. "You could say I could use the money now more than ever." I said as I smiled at the wolf. I have a friend now. A friend that needs food. Food that's not pie. I removed my hand from the wolf and placed it on the table. I stared at the wall while I continued my conversation with the man.

"Of course, ma'am. I'm thinking $2,500?" He said with a shaky voice. He's afraid I want more. Usually I take more than that, but I can live with it. I get an average of three jobs a month and that pays well. I heard movement, but I didn't look down at the wolf. It's proabbly just laying down. I told myself.

"Very well. I will call and let you know when the job is done, and I expect the money within a day. If not received within a day...consequences will take place." I said with a deep meaning in my voice. The man got the message.

"Yes, o-of course." He replied. "Talk with you soon."

I hung up the phone and looked down to look at the wolf again, but it had vanished. I stood and whistled. No responce. I walked into my bedroom and looked around. The wolf was no where to be seen. Curious as to where it went I walked into the living room, the wolf was not there either. I paused and glanced around. It was no where. It's as if the wolf just vanished. I whistled once more before pausing to feel what I felt. I felt sad and lonely that the wolf had disappeared. I walked into my bedroom and sat down on my bed by my side table. I picked up my dagger and quickly added a cut to my left arm. I felt the emotion slip away, and I felt fine again. I reached out to place my dagger back on my side table and felt a pinch on my finger.

"Fuck!" I shouted as I stood and shook my hand. Pain, I said to myself. I'm feeling strong pain.

I looked at my finger and noticed something had bitten me. I looked at my side table and saw the little black spider sitting on the handle of my dagger. I leaned down to it's level. It's back. I said to myself.

"You little fucker." I said firmly and reached out my hand to pick  up my dagger the spider dropped onto the floor and dashed underneath my bed. "I'll get you sooner or later, and when I do you're going to experience a long and painful death!" I shouted at my bed.

I then slid into black jeans and a black t-shirt that said "The Devil Made Me Do It..." on the front. Then I put on my favorite leather jacket. I own like ten leather jackets, but this one was my favorite because it had a strange loop on the back and it held my dagger nicely. I slid my dagger into the loop and then flipped my long silky black hair onto my back to cover the dagger. I then walked out into the living room and over to my gun cabinet. I pulled out a slick black pistol and put into the back of my pants where no one could see it. I then took a dart gun and hid it under my jacket. I grabbed three poison darks and disguised them under fake scar tissue on my stomach. I straightened out my jacket and took a look in my mirror on the wall in my living room. I look stunning and now I'm ready for my first job in weeks. Oh yeah, an easy $2,500 coming my way.
