Chapter 3

Katniss pov

We walk back inside and peeta takes my coat and hangs it and also gives me a blanket and tells me that if I wanted I could sit on the couch while he made me a cup of hot chocolate I nodded and stared at the fire until he came back with the cup of chocolate he sits next to me he looks like he wants to say something but he doesn't want to ruin the peace so I stare at his beautiful ocean blue eyes and I sigh and say "so how's life been for you" he kind of thinks about it then says " it been ok" I want to believe what he had just said but I don't " peeta you know you can tell me anything" I say he looks strait into my eyes and I can see that he is having an internal war with himself but finally says "I need to tell you something" I look at him and I see sadness in his eyes " yes peeta" he sighs before he says "katniss I really like you and when I was in the Capitol the only thing that was helping me get through my hijacking was you all my thoughts were on you all the time I still have feelings for you I always have from when I first saw you to right now even when i was hijacked I still had part of me who loved you but the problem is I know when we where in the arena you didn't really love me so I don't know how you feel about me and if you don't feel the same way it's ok I understand" when he's done he has tears in his eyes and so do I "peeta I know that when we were in the arena I said I didn't really like you but I really did just deep inside didn't want to face the fact that I liked you because every time some one comes closer to me they end up leaving me hurt but when you hit the force field I know that I really did love you when they told me that the Capitol had you I broke down because I had just got you and then I was going to lose you again I really missed you when you were in the Capitol but when you came back some part of me kept on hoping that the boy with the bread was still in there so if that doesn't answer your question yes peeta I do love you" by the end I'm crying and peeta just looks at me the raises his hand and wipes my tears away I smile slightly then peeta says " you love me.real or not real?" I lean in kiss peeta and he kisses back I forgot what it was like but I remember how much I missed his touch while he was gone we pull away and I say "real."
