I can still remember vividly almost everything, as if it happened yesterday. I never thought things would turn out the way they are now...

"Mama! Mama!", I ran into the Megastone mansion with my cousin Scott laughing behind me.
"Yes, Chloe. What is it?", she asked clearly absent minded. That was how she always was whenever they were together with Scott's mom- Aunt Vina.
"I'm older than Scott, right?", I asked.
She looked at me sympathetically and nodded 'no'. The way I squeezed my face says that I was super angry.
"Well I can say you're older than him if it will make you feel better. But it's time to accept the truth honey". She kissed me on the head.
I turned towards the door disappointedly, but that disappointment turned into anger when I spotted Scott laughing at me, and before we knew it I was running after him with his dog-Girl, following us.
"Kids", I heard Aunt Vina say and mama joined in with her beautiful giggle.

My name is Chloe Megastone and I'm the only child of my parents. My father is Mr. Felix Magastone, the worlds richest business tycoon and oil magnate. My mother was Mrs. Livia Megastone, the best dress designer the world had ever seen. Well, from the sound of what my parent's statuses are, it's obvious that I lived my life to its fullest-oh god, the sky's the limit. My mother was high born, a Russian princess and my father is half cast Latin American, but the American aspect of his blood is stronger.
We dine in the worlds biggest, finest and most expensive restaurants. We lodge in our private villas in Rome, Italy, France, South Africa, Canada, Russia, Mexico, and Japan, just to mention a few. We go on a lot of vacations especially on cruise during summer because Mama liked the Ocean. Cruising around the Caribbean Islands are always the best-they have the best dishes.
I had beauticians who took  care of my skin and light makeup(Mama doesn't like it when I wear makeup, she said I must come of age), I also had nutritionists who took care of my diets and made sure I eat healthy food. I had mentors/tutors to helped with homework and school projects, I had my personal gym trainer who made sure I was fit, I had drivers, cooks, bodyguards and nannies who were like my Mama when she was out with Dad to maybe the country club or golf course. The older I get, the more people employed to work for me.
With my mom being a designer, I wear signature dresses and gowns, tiaras and hats, studs and charm bracelets, shoes and clutch bags, jeans and shirts, and all other kinds of things associated with that. Except jewelries and high heels( I must come of age). I get whatever I want at any cost. I was treated like a porcelain doll- so delicate.
Scott is my cousin. His dad is Jack Megastone, dad's older brother and his mom is Mama's best friend, his younger sister is his only sibling-Emily. Scott's dad and my dad have some differences, while my dad liked to spend a lot, Scott's dad would rather save it. He often says my dad was spoiling all of us, himself inclusive. The family might be small, but we are so tight we never skip a bit. I'm not so good with pets, I once had a Persian cat who died after 6 days of adoption and after it I had several other pets like a bird, hamster, even a chameleon, and a dog, but trust me, it didn't end well with all of them.
What could an eight year old girl want more in her life? My life was heaven on earth. There was nothing I lacked, until...

"Can we have more ice cream Aunt Vina?", I asked.
"Sure Chloe", she smiled and added two more scoops each for Scott and I.
We were having a barbecue at the backyard at Scott's house. Uncle Jack made sure that there were no maids to help, he wanted it exclusively for us.
"Why am I having a strange feeling? Like something is gonna happen", said Mama.
"It's happening right now", said Uncle Jack.
"What do you mean it's happening right now?", Mama asked.
"Well we are having a family barbecue that will bring us more tight", he answered and they started laughing.
"Chloe honey?", called Dad.
"Yh".
"Be quick with the ice cream, I know you're not a fan of beef, we have to get going. I have a meeting at San Francisco in an hour", he said looking at his gold wrist watch.
"Okay daddy".
"Scott my boy", he called Scott "when next are you playing your baseball match? I don't want to miss out on it"
"Ah...well I left the team I play for in school. My Uncle Victor is picking me and another American for his new team in two years to come", Scott explained.
"I don't get you son", Dad said.
"Ah..ahh..", Scott was clearly out of words to explain to my dad.
"My brother Victor is planning on owning a baseball team and he wants Scott to join in. He's picking three players from America and the rest from all parts of the world. He wants to groom them for international baseball, but it's in two years from now", explained Aunt Vina.
"That's very nice Scott. I'm so proud of you, having a baseball player in the family is great. But keep on practicing don't stay idle while waiting for the time.", said dad.
"Thanks Uncle F".
"Any time boy", he then turned to me "are you done princess?"
"Yes"
"Honey I don't think I can accompany you to that meeting. My head aches", Mama said.
"I hope it's not margarine", said Uncle Jack.
"Hope so too", said Mama.
"We better get going then".
In less than ten minutes, we were all set to go back home. Aunt Vina carried two year old Emily with her as she accompanied us to the car. She hugged Mama as if it was the last time they were hugging. Just as she released her, before we knew it, Mama screamed and held her head firmly with her hand. Scott dragged me away as Dad pushed the car door open.
"My head Felix my head", Mama kept on repeating.
Aunt Vina without knowing what she was doing handed Emily to Scott in a careless way, she almost fell. Uncle Jack entered the drivers seat and started the car as Dad and Aunt Vina helped Mama into the car.
"Don't misbehave okay? We'll be back, take care of them.", she spoke so fast and there was worry in her tone.
They left the parking lot immediately leaving me crying.
Everything was so fast and confusing. Some minutes ago, we were all happy and okay, and now look at us all worried.
Emily's nanny came and collected her from Scott.
"Is Mama gonna be okay?", I asked him as he sat next to me on the garden stairs.
"We hope so", he said sounding broken.
I placed on head on my lap, hugged my knees and continued crying. Moments later I felt Scott hugging me and that really helped. While thinking of Mama, I drifted off to sleep.

"Chloe", I heard a voice calling me. Immediately I recognized Aunt Vina's voice, I recalled the incident that happened before I slept-took a nap.
"Mama", I said, scratching my arm and eyes. "Where's Mama?"
"She's at the hospital, she's doing great. She wants you there now, so that you can go home all together."
"Okay"
Scott, Aunt Vina and I left for the hospital in her car. I was so eager to see my Mama. I was the first to open the car door when we reached the hospital. I ran out and  entered the reception. I spotted Uncle J leaning against the wall deep in thoughts.
"Uncle where's Mama?", I asked "and dad"
"They're inside", he answered pointing to a room.
I ran and pushed the door open. Dad was backing the door and was blocking the view of the bed. I ran passed him. I can swear my heart skipped a beat as a reaction to what I saw. Everything turned slow-mo. I turned to Dad for an explanation and it was then that I noticed his bloodshot eyes that were tiny due to excessive crying. He looked at me sympathetically and helplessly before bursting into more tears. I turned to the dead body of my mother which was covered with the white sheets and started shaking. I was only eight but I really felt the death of my mom. My father held me tight as million tears race down my cheeks.
"I'm sorry Chloe, we tried.... I'm so sorry...", he said as we cried.
I lost the person I loved the most in the world. The person who truly knew me. She left me without saying goodbye, without saying any last word, without a sign. My mother, my one and only mother, dead.
While crying and looking at my mothers dead body, I blanked out.
