JISOO LOOKED AT her watch impatiently. It was nearly time for her to clock out. She was craving kimbap, but more than that, she wanted to dive right into her bed and never leave it again.
Her day was tiring at the very least. She had morning classes, after college she got bothered by a bunch of girls again, then someone tried to scout her again, and then she had to babysit a little devil (she loved him, though) called Donghyun. By the time her shift started, she hadn't even eaten dinner. Her boss was stingy and didn't give her any free meals nor any breaks, so she was surviving on the oatmeal and piece of bread she had eaten that early morning.
"Urgh.." the girl groaned and leaned her elbows on the counter, hiding her head in her arms. "I wanna go hooome."
She clicked her tongue when she heard the familiar bell of the door being opened, signalling that a customer had entered.
"Welcome." She dryly greeted, not even lifting her head from her arms. To her annoyance, whoever entered didn't respond. She sighed and stood up straight, only to be licked in the face.
"What the— What—!!" Jisoo exclaimed, jumping back and hitting the wall quite harshly. She winced and rubbed her shoulder, looking bewildered as she stared at the small dog that just licked her face.
"Yah!" She yelled, wiping the spit off her face. "don't do that, it's seriously gross!"
A deep chuckle ringed in Jisoo's ears. It then dawned on her that someone must've held the dog for it to be able to lick her.
Her eyes found the big hands that were holding the small dog. A glare immediately appeared on her face, and she directed it at the redhead in front of her, who was smirking out of amusement.
"Hi. Mind if I leave my dog here while getting some stuff?"
"You can't." Jisoo harshly responded.
The redhead cocked his head to the right and pointed to a sigh on the counter.
"But it says right here that I can."
Jisoo followed his finger to the small text that said 'Here with your pet? Please leave it at the counter for personal hygiene!'.
The girl scoffed. "Why did you ask, then? Just do whatever you want."
The redhead raised his eyebrows at her, his smirk gone.
"You're pretty rude, aren't you?"
"I'm speaking politely, though? You aren't."
It was the truth; although Jisoo was speaking harshly, she used a formal way of speaking. It was the redhead who was using casual speech with a complete stranger.
"You got me there," he smirked, setting his dog at the counter. "Take care of my Yeontan, please."
When the redhead left, Jisoo scoffed again and crossed her arms in front of her chest. She stared the dog down, who, in return, glared back at her.
"You think you're so cute, don't you," Jisoo huffed. "Well, you aren't. Stupid dog."
The dog made a weird sound; it sounded aggressive, which made Jisoo jump up a little. She wheezed, gripping her chest thightly.
"Man," she huffed. "Thought he was going to attack me."
From a small distance, the redhead watched Jisoo talk with his dog. He chuckled as he grabbed a soda.
"How cute."
