Chapter 1
Peter POV
When I gave up being Spider-Man, I was aware that there would be consequences. The city has fallen to shit, crime was everywhere and ever present but New York and the ones I loved were safer without Spider-Man. I decided to go for a walk to clear my head, it was two years ago today that I gave up being everyone's favorite web slinger. "The city's doing much better since this new, white tiger hero that surfaced about a year ago.
" I thought to myself as I walked. Crime was slowly going down in the city, but the criminals were getting more dangerous just like when I was still Spiderman. Eventually more innocents will become the targets of these criminals just to draw this new hero out, and in time I have a feeling that this hero's decision will be the same as mine. I didn't cope well with the loss of MJ, it was my fault after all, she paid for my secret. It was that day I vowed no one else would be hurt because of my secret. When I stepped down the bigger criminals seemed to fade out and the cops eventually figured out how to actually keep them locked up.Although because of this hero's emergence a new big time crime leader has seemed too appeared among the criminals, but it isn't my place to keep up with that stuff anymore. My concern was keeping Mae safe and to do that I hung up my mask and faded into the normal crowd.
I was passing by one of the many abandoned buildings that littered New York city's streets, a flack of white caught my eye. I turned just in time to see someone falling from the roof, before I could process what was going on my hero instincts took over, causing me to shoot out my webs saving them.
I was originally going to just leave whoever it was there but my curiosity got the best of me, as I approached the unconscious girl I noticed that she was dressed in the uniform of the new vigilante, white tiger, but more importantly she was badly injured. Against my better judgement I decided to take her to my house so she could safely rest and I could clean her wounds. There would be no telling what would happen to her if I just left her there, but Speaking from experience it could definitely be bad. When I got home I took her straight upstairs to my room, thankfully I had kept in shape allowing me to carry her petite body with ease. Thankfully for me my Aunt Mae had left on a trip to see some old friends and wouldn't be home for a few more days. I laid her down on my bed and began cleaning her wounds. For such a small woman she had a lot of well toned muscle, which made it that much more important to get her stitched up as soon as possible.
From what I could tell she had two that were pretty bad, one on her cheek and the other on her arm. I started with her cheek but was careful not to take off her mask any more than I absolutely had too. I then moved to her arm, the gash was deep and would require more than a couple of stitches. Since her costume was a long sleeve I had to get it off of her before I could even attempt to treat the wound. Lifting the hem of her shirt I was hoping that she was wearing something underneath, thankfully she was, so I striped her out of the long sleeve shirt being careful of her left forearm since it was cut and the cut was pretty deep. Just as I had finally finished cleaning and wrapping her arm, she woke up for a slight moment mumbling about where she was, then falling back to sleep.
Thinking to myself, I decided that she might not freak out as much if I was dressed as Spider-Man instead of a random kid that would have nothing to lose by revealing her identity. I went to my closet and dug out my suit that I had hidden away just in case I ever needed it again, turns out that it was a good idea. I left to change, hoping that she would wake up again soon
