In a small town in the country side of France was a high school full of odd and talented, maturing teenagers. One of these people was a pretty faced girl named Belle. Belle was the most modest and quiet of all the senior girls, she had always known to keep up her good girl reputation, since in a small town everyone knows everything, even when they don't. As she walked to the entrance of the high school, she ran a hand through her her brown hair and smoothed her blue and white dress, that ran past her knees, she was reading The Last Waltz. Belle was always reading. Everyone definitely noticed, especially a fairly muscular boy named Gaston, who seemed to strongly believe women should be chained to the kitchen.
Gaston, a buff, arrogant boy, who looked more like a body builder, was on the football team and he could not stand to loose, therefore he cheated, at everything. He was a boy who never gave up, but as many times as he asked, Belle never said yes to the offers of dinner and painting the town. Gaston didn't come from a family of much importance, but he was certainly making a name for himself by showing off. Also, he had a long flow of girls following him, hoping he'd make them his next girlfriend.
At this time Belle was making her way to her first class when Gaston decided that that was the best time to make yet another move on Belle.
"So how was your summer Belle?" Gaston asked, with a devilish grin playing on his lips.
"Very pleasant, I read so many classics, like Gone with the Wind, how about yours?" She said.
"Fine, why do you read so much?" Gaston asked.
"It takes me to another world, you know?" she said.
"You know, I could take you to another world." Gaston said suggestively and taking a few steps toward her.
"Gaston, I'm not really interested." Belle said countering his steps by taking a few away from him.
"I really doubt that," Gaston said closing the gap between them.
Belle was beyond nervous, this was the first time that she was really scared of what he would do. She cowered beneath his large frame, refusing to look him in the eyes. She had to find someway for her to get away before this got too serious. She looked around, a crowd had gathered, she did notice a line was forming to get in the school.
"Look at the time, we should head to class." She said.
"I say we skip, drive to a few of my favorite places, do a few things." he said and a swoon went through the senior girls who were there.
"I'd prefer to stay where I'm supposed to, Gaston." Belle said.
"Not to mention the fact that she would have to be stuck in a car with you as you drive to a strip club" a strong voice said behind Gaston, the crowd gasped then snickered.
"Excuse me?" Gaston roared, turning toward the one who interrupted.
"Maybe your brain is too small to comprehend that statement." the voice said, poor short Belle couldn't see over or around Gaston.
"What was that, city boy?" Gaston boomed.
"You know you heard me" the voice said.
"You need and attitude adjustment, don't you?" Gaston asked, popping his knuckles.
"No, personally, I know when to pick my battles." The voice said dripping in smart-ass-ery, another snicker rippled.
"That's it, you say one more thing, I'll pound your face in." The crowd gasped, as Gaston stepped away from Belle.
"Do it, see where you end up." The crowd gasped again, Belle finally got to look at the other boy, sadly she didn't recognize him.
Gaston threw a punch, but missed as the other boy ducked and struck Gaston's stomach. Gaston staggered and caught his breath. The crowd now, including some teachers, was cheering. Gaston seemed to be even angrier, he lunged at the other boy, who again dodged and landed another hit, this time to Gaston's face. Gaston had had enough and decided to try a different strategy, he waited for the other to hit him. But the other boy knew not to even think about that, and so he calmly stood straight and walked to Belle, grabbing her arm the two went into the school.
