Undertale: Needle in a thread (Undertale Fan Novel)

Somewhere Sad

The wind howled as the portal opened, with the Trio exiting it. Needle did his best to not heave onto the floor again, not wanting Gemini's opinion. He looked around to see if he could find which part of the underground they were in. He noticed snow on the ground. Snowdin? He thought to himself. He looked up to see a horrific scene. Snowdin Town was in ruins. The buildings were destroyed. Bodies littered the grounds of the town. Needle gasped at the horrible image before him. Gemini and Fantasy came up behind him.

"What on earth happened here?" Needle asked with fear in his eyes.

"A great calamity." Gemini approaches one of the bodies, crouching to study it carefully. "The soul is gone, but the body remains. Why haven't the bodies turned to dust?" He muttered to himself." Studying closer, Gemini stands up and turns to the other two.

"Well, what do you make of it, Gemini?" Fantasy asks eagerly.

"It seems that the souls were drained of their life force somehow," Gemini explained. "I've never seen anything like it. But it feels familiar somehow..."

Needle tries to tries to pull himself together from being shocked. He sees a body familiar to him and approaches it. As he draws closer he realized the body was a Papyrus. He went to his knees at the scene. Fantasy went behind him to comfort him.

"Remember, this is not your Papyrus." Fantasy reassured him.

"I know." Needle responded, his face filled with despair.

"We have to keep going," Gemini ordered.

As the party pushed out of Snowdin Town and into Waterfall, the river along the path dried up. No water could be seen anywhere, not even little droplets. Passing Waterfall and into,Hotland, the lava was non existent. The core had absoultey no power.

"I dont understand," Fantasy commented. "Who could have done this?"

Suddenly a voice was heard.

"Maybe it was me."
