I looked out the window during math class a few weeks later; which I shouldn't have done, because I did not get Algebra.
"Attention, students," Principal McGee announced over the speakers. "Some of you have been disrespecting school property-- so early in the year, too!" It was late October. "We on the board ask you to stop disrespecting other people's property. We are fully capable of suspending or expelling you, be in no doubt. Have a nice day."
After that very uplifting speech, the bell rang. I leaned against my locker. "9 am is waaay to early for Algebra 2."
"You're telling me!" Helen agreed, shaking her head.
I sighed and opened my locker, and anti-stink foot powder fell out, and suddenly I was covered in powder. "What? How? Why? Who?"
"Oops!" Someone said behind me. I turned around to  see who it was. "Silly me. I put my friend's foot powder in the wrong locker!" Casey smiled, smugly.
"Casey!!" Helen said. "That is not nice!"
"I made a little mistake. Could happen to ayone." She walked away.
"Of course, this means war!" Helen stated.
"What? No, she-she- I-I- it-it was an accident." I shrugged.
Helen looked at me like, 'Really? You don't wanna get her?'.
"Look, Helen, it's fine." I grabbed my books for biology. "See ya at lunch." I walked away, then was smashed into a locker by two guys fighting. I thought I recognized one of them.
In Biology, I sat next to the window. Once again, I casually looked out, but was surprised. I saw that tall, dark, and handsome guy I had run into on the first day. He held up a sign that said "Can you weasel your way outta there?" I shook my head, and he nodded. I wrote on my paper, "No." and held it up. He clasped his hands together and made puppy eyes. I rolled my eyes, and raised my hand.
"Yes, Becky?" Mrs. Smith called on me.
"May I use the restroom?"
"Go ahead."
I walked out to the hall and waited a minute. Then he came up to me.
"Wanna skip class?"
"Look, I can't. Please don't bother me." I started to walk away.
"I saw that you were pranked by Casey."
I turned around and walked back to him.
"She always pranks freshmen."
"I'm a sophomore."
"Then did you say something to offend her?"
"I don't know. I may have called her mean or rude or something 'long those lines." I crossed my arms.
"She hates you now. You better be on your guard."
"Listen. I got to get back to class. Thanks for the advice?" I walked back to class, confused; and somewhat, somehow like I was in love? I ignored that feeling and tried to concentrate on biology.
