Akihiko x Misaki Backstory Part 4 - Chapter 24

"So where are you gonna go?" Nii-chan asked

I decided to move out.

Nii-chan just got married, and he's not gonna have kids if I was in the house.

I'm also in my senior year, so its fitting for me to be on my own already.

"I don't know, I'm still looking. I found this cheap room but its too far from Uni."

"Don't be silly, I can help you pay for rent. Just look for apartments near JU."

"No! Nii-chan, my salary from my part time job is enough. You already pay for my tuition and everything, I don't want you to waste your money on me. Most especially now that you're married."

He smiled and patted my back, he looked teary eyed for a sec.

"I'm so proud of you, Misaki. Even though Mom and Dad left us so early, I was too scared to raise you by myself. You grew up to become a responsible adult. Thank you."

I hugged him, and almost teared up a bit.

"WHOAAA! I know, I know! I know just the place, Misaki! Oh my gawd, why didn't I thought of this sooner? I know a place!"

Nii-chan was right.

This place is just a 10 minute walk from JU, I could even see the school green field from here.

But wait, this is the penthouse.

I think Nii-chan got the floor wrong.

I rang the doorbell, no answer.

I rang it again. Nothing.

I knocked on the door and it swung forward a bit.

It was open.

I walked inside and the place covered the whole floor.

There were tons of paper scattered on the floor, books stacked up everywhere and crumpled up tattered books as well.

I went to look around and a gut feeling was brewing inside me.

I think Niichan brought me intro a trap.

I took a piece of paper  from the pile on the floor, and I found a find looking hand writing.

The paper read, "I don't know if I can hold on to him anymore, I'm using him. For my own selfish wish."

This line felt lonely.

Or is that me?

"My selfish wish, how can I stop? Should I keep going even though I clearly see his dying inside?"

"How did we even get to this point? I've longed for a friend in you but you gave me more. I don't deserve you."

"The only one who can quench this thirst I've been living with is only him, my selfish wish."

Tears fell from my eyes as I read the paragraph.

I can feel the loneliness from each word.
