Prologue

"Lily?" Harry called. She turned to look at him, a nervous smile on her face."It's time to go." He said giving her a reassuring smile.

She nodded and turned back to the full length mirror, as the stylists continued fussing with her white silk dress, and her light brown hair. She bit the inside of her cheek as she tried to remember all the tips the courtiers had given her over the course of the last few days. Don't fidget. Hold your head high. Shoulders back. Don't ramble. She's turned them over and over in her mind when suddenly the stylists all stepped away and she felt a hand wrap around her waist, lips pressed into her ear.

"You're beautiful, you always have been, now stop worrying you're going to be fine." He assured her, pressing a kiss to her temple as she squeezed the hand wrapped around her waist.

Funny she thought she'd been doing a fine enough job hiding her nerves. Leave it to Harry to see past her façade. She nodded once and took a deep breath. He was right; she was going to be fine. All the royal aides and even Kate herself had assured her that the announcement of the engagement was probably going to be the least nerve-wracking thing she would have to endure before joining the Royal Family so she'd better enjoy this part of it while she could.

Lily swallowed hard as Harry grabbed onto her hand and placed it around his arm. The sparkling 4 carat oval shaped engagement ring in view for the world to see. This was it, she was about to be announced to the world as the future Mrs. Harry Windsor and the newest soon-to-be Royal. As the door to the state room opened and they were led down the corridor, Lily could feel the butterflies in her stomach settling. For whatever reason, she knew she was right where she was supposed to be.
