Endless Love ("Neiko")

Sunshine Time

Prom marked the last day of school and the first day of summer vacation. It meant it was time to relax and have some fun, which was much needed by the girls.

The two girls were sound asleep wrapped in each other's arms. Sunlight was bleeding through the slots in the blinds and birds were chirping happily just outside.

Felix's bell echoed through the room as he trotted on in. He jumped onto the bed and walked up toward the pillows stepping all over the girls' bodies. Seiko groaned and pushed him off of her when he tried to settle on her head. He meowed and climbed back on. This time, Seiko pushed him off the bed. But again, he jumped back on.

Seiko sat up with a huff, Felix staring at her from her lap almost mockingly.

"I'm gonna start closing the door so you can't get in here while we sleep..." Seiko said pointedly.

Naomi sighed and stretched next to Seiko, waking up to the sound of her voice. She pushed closer to Seiko and giggled softly. "He doesn't understand you, love."

Seiko stared back at Felix intently. "You never know, Naomi..."

"What time is it?" Naomi asked in almost a whisper.

Seiko leaned over to check her phone. "9:23. Would you like breakfast?"

Naomi shook her head against Seiko's back. "I'd rather you stay out of the kitchen. I'll make us breakfast, just feed Felix."

Seiko gave a quick nod and hopped out of bed. She headed to the bathroom and brushed her teeth then called for Felix to follow her downstairs. His bell jingled as he hopped down the stairs and waited at his food bowl. Seiko poured a small amount into his bowl and refilled his water dish. She began washing the dishes that were left in the sink to give Naomi some peace of mind as she cooked.

After brushing her teeth and washing her face, Naomi headed downstairs and walked into the kitchen. She hugged Seiko from behind and kissed the back of her neck. She stepped away and reached into the fridge for some eggs, green and red peppers, and sausage. Naomi swiftly pulled the cutting board and a knife out from a drawer and began chopping the sausage into thick slices. She then diced the peppers into small cubes.

Seiko sat at the table and watched Naomi work quickly, yet elegantly.

Naomi placed a skillet onto the stove, added a drop of oil, and let it simmer. While that was heating up she cracked a few eggs and added salt and pepper. She whisked them as the oil began to hiss and pop. Naomi added the diced peppers and gave it a quick mix. Naomi placed down the bowl of eggs next to the stove and started dropping slices of sausage into the pan, making sure to continue moving them and flipping them as needed. As the sausage cooked, she placed them all on a plate to cook off and used the remaining oil to cook the eggs.

She poured the beaten eggs into the skillet, turning them to create a thin layer that covered the entirety of the pan. Seiko watched, mesmerized, as Naomi took the pan and flipped the omelette that was forming. Naomi took shredded cheese from the fridge and sprinkled some over the egg sheet. She waited a bit then flipped it over to finish the omelette.

She cut the omelette in half and placed each half on its own plate. Naomi then added some sausage and placed both plates on the table with chopsticks.

"Orange juice or water?" Naomi asked.

"OJ please!"

Naomi poured two cups of orange juice and grabbed some napkins then sat down.

"Itadakimasu."

"Itadakimasu!" Seiko said cheerfully.

They both started eating and Felix soon made his way to the table to see what smelled so good. Naomi giggled when he rubbed up against her leg. She took a small piece of sausage with her chopsticks and gave it to Felix. He took it gratefully and meowed, as if to say 'Thank you.'

They finished up their meals and washed their plates, then went back upstairs to Naomi's room.

Seiko flopped down onto the bed with a sigh. "What d'you want to do today, Naomi?"

"Not sure," Naomi replied as she sat next to her. "it's warm outside maybe we could go to a park or something."

"Like go exploring?"

Naomi smiled. "Yeah, I don't see why not."

"Awesome! I'll get dressed!" Seiko said cheerfully.

The girls got dressed and made small bags with water and a few snacks. They took a cab to a national park not too far from home and found the visitor's center. While inside they grabbed a map of the park and were told the rules and regulations of the park. They headed out and stared at the map before speaking.

"Let's just go up the main trail." Naomi said, "Don't want to go and get lost, right?"

The girls chuckled and followed the main path along with others. They observed the beautiful forest looking out for animals of all sorts: birds, deer, or squirrels. Once they reached the top of the path they stopped and sat on a large rock. The sun had started to set, painting the sky pink and orange alike.

Seiko sighed happily, "This is nice."

"It's so pretty..." Naomi replied, trailing off.

A park ranger walked up behind them and spoke loudly, startling them, "The sun is setting girls, time to head back."

"Way to ruin the moment." Seiko whispered.

Naomi shoved Seiko with a grin. "Stop that."

The girls walked down the path, hand-in-hand until they reached the visitor's center. Again, they got a cab and headed home. Seiko dozed off on the way home with her head on Naomi's shoulder. Naomi nudged Seiko awake when they were close to home and led her inside to their bedroom.

Naomi helped Seiko lie down on the bed, but was pulled swiftly on top of Seiko by her arm.

Naomi laughed out loud. "Seiko! Be careful!"

Seiko giggled and pulled Naomi down closer and covered her face in small kisses.

"Hey! That tickles!" Naomi exclaimed.

"Too bad." Seiko replied with a coy smile.

Seiko planted kisses on Naomi's neck, leading up to her cheek, and to the corners of her lips. With a huge smile Seiko kissed Naomi on the lips softly. Naomi sighed happily and leaned back in to kiss Seiko again; this time holding the kiss for a while.

Naomi pulled away and looked at Seiko for a minute. She smiled deeply. "I love you."

"I love you, too."

Naomi giggled and leaned down to kiss Seiko again. She planted one last kiss on her forehead. "Now, go to sleep, love."

Seiko grinned and let her arms fall off of Naomi. She turned over and buried her face into the pillow. Naomi climbed off the bed and looked back at Seiko quickly before leaving the room to get ready for bed.
