Heart P.O.V

After last night, Khalil and I agreed to wait awhile to have sex. We packed and went to bed early. I woke up before him, so I decided to take a shower before I woke him up. After I got out of the shower, I changed into some jean shorts, a tank top, some brown sandals, and a braided belt. “Babe, wake up, we have to leave soon,” I said to Khalil. “Wha…? Oh, morning baby,” he said yawning. He got up and walked into the closet. I plugged my phone into the outlet to let it charge. Khalil walked into the bathroom, and got in the shower. He was singing, like he always was. When he sang, it made me really happy. In about 20 minutes, he came out of the shower, and wrapped a towel around his waist. “You look especially nice today,” he said to me. “Thanks, I thought you would be happy,” I said. He walked out of the bathroom and back into the closet. He walked back into the bathroom, with brush in his hand. “We should hurry up, we have to drive all the way to Virginia,” I said. “I can’t wait for you to move into my-I mean, our house” Khalil said, smiling. We said bye to everyone, and left. 5 hours later We got to my old house, and I got out of the car. Khalil was behind me, carrying some boxes. I took my key, opened the door and my jaw dropped. “Well, hello Heart.” My stepdad. He picked me up and threw me on the bed. Everything that happened in my dream was happening now. Except Khalil wasn’t here yet. I kicked and screamed to fight him off, until Khalil came to save me.

Khalil P.O.V

Heart was taking a long time to pack up a box, so I decided to go help her. “Babe you need done help?” No answer. “Baby?” Still no answer. “Heart! Where are you?!” I heard a muffled scream, and I ran upstairs. I saw a guy with his shirt off on top of Heart. This must be her stepfather. I punched him in the face a few times, then left him on the floor, unconscious long enough for the police to get here. I carried Heart into the car. I called the police, and they were here almost immediately. He got arrested, and wouldn’t be bothering us again. I drove straight home, not bothering to pack up Heart’s old stuff. On the car ride home, Heart didn’t say a word. I knew she didn’t want to talk now, so I didn’t bother her. When we got to my house, my parents weren’t home. I loved them to death, but I hated that they were never around. I took Heart’s bags upstairs for her, and showed her where my room was. “Welcome home,” I said. She gave me a small smile and sat on my bed, crossing her legs. “Baby,” I said. She turned to me, still not saying anything. “You have to talk to me,” I said, kneeling on the ground and holding her hands. “Khalil, I don’t really want to talk right now, I just wanna be alone right now. In fact, do you have a guest room I could stay in?” I picked up her bags, and set them in one of the guest rooms. I was walking away when   she touched my arm. “I’m sorry,” she said. She kissed me, but I didn’t kiss her back. “I love you.” I just gave her a small smile back. I walked back into my room and flopped down on my bed. I was upset that she couldn’t talk to me, even though I didn’t want to be. She would talk to me when she was ready. It was only 10, but I was tired. I took off my shirt, and put on some basketball shorts, and went to sleep.

I woke up to knocking on my door. I yawned and got up to see who it was. I opened the door, and it was Heart. She was wearing those shorts I liked in a different color, and a short and baggy t-shirt that showed off her stomach. She looked really sexy right now, but I knew she wasn’t here for that. “Can I come in,” she asked quietly. I moved aside so she could go in and closed the door behind her. She sat down on my bed and looked at me with a sad expression. “Khalil, please stop being mad,” she said. I didn’t think she could tell. “I’m not mad. What makes you think I’m mad?” I said. “Your not looking me in my eyes like you always do,” she said. I looked at her, in her eyes this time. “Look babe. Yes, I’m upset that you didn’t want to talk to me earlier, but I’m not anymore alright?” Her whole expression changed to happy. “Um, it’s kinda lonely in that guest room…” she said trailing off. I moved the covers off the other side of the bed. She curled up under the covers, and I played with her hair. She straightened it most of the time, and I liked it better when she wore it like she was now. “You should wear your hair like this more often,” I told her. “If you want me to I will,” she replied, yawning. “Babe, go to sleep, your tired.” She took my arms, and wrapped them around her, and I kissed her forehead. “I love you too, Heart.”
