There was a young couple who attended the same university. They were both medical students. The dormitories were in the same building but they were separated. The girls dormitories were on the upper floors and the boys lived in the lower floors. They had to study in their dorms until very late at night, and they were only allowed to visit each other during visiting hours. So the boy and girl rarely got time to see each other. There were no cell phones at the time so it was hard to keep in contact.
Every night the girl would make a cup of oxtail soup for her boyfriend. She would hang it out the window and lower it down to her boyfriend. Every time he drank the cup of soup he felt a warm feeling inside.
One night, the boy received the oxtail soup. He ate it all and fell asleep with his books open. The next day the boy went down to see his girlfriend, but she was no where to be found. He asked her roommate where she was. The girl spoke the sad truth to him. His girlfriend had died a few days earlier to an unknown illness. Then he thought for a moment, if she had died, then who was giving him the oxtail soup?
