The feast of Winter Star is an annual festivity held on the twenty-fifth of the final month at the end of the year in the deep winter month, grand balls and feasts were set out in the cities for the upper classes while the lower classes usually celebrated at their home among family and friends. Some lonely souls spending the night alone in taverns or stuck in a gutter on some remote corner of town. Of course the Human Kingdom was holding a banquet par request of the King Eric and his designer robes which he always embellished in the winter time with thick wolf fur and dyed pelts. Having been invited i couldnt refuse, only rule was no Elves allowed into the kingdom at the time of the festivities. Dissimilar to the coronation of King Kyle which had no race requirement to attend.
Despite being very unenthusiastic at the thought of going I had to attend for race relations and for the sake of national trade.

So there i was, In the middle of a ballroom with the dress Eric chose for me handing loosely on my form as i stared around the strings of lights decorating his ballroom and illuminating the faces of royals and the Kings most trusted. No one with ears past a certain height were allowed into the premises, they were checked thoroughly. I just narrowly passed through myself, Bebe and Annie had no chance getting through. Music was blasting through my eardrums and shaking through my chest as i sipped on the ale provided in champagne glasses. Human produced ale had a strong bitterness to it that was very refreshing when cold. It wasn't very strong but its interesting taste was its main selling point.
I had yet to be approached, the inhabitants of the room seemingly intimidated by my gaze. Pulling an arm close to my chest i couldnt help think of Kyle. It had been months since i had last seen him, Kingly duties had not treated him kindly as he was always busy, he had little time for correspondence now. On the other hand i had heard much of Stan, he wrote to me daily and told me of everything that happened in his life, not sparing the slightest detail. It was sweet.

The deep blue eyes infront of me snapped me from my gaze as the tall, tanned figure swerved around mine to stand next to me. Looking up at the man who had joined my presence i raised an eyebrow before looking back onto the mass. "Long time no see Craig." I smirked and saw him give a cheeky smile, his arms crossed as he too looked out onto the dancing couples. "Would've come sooner but seems your security has gotten more persistant on keeping me out." I chuckled, Bebe had caught him trying to climb through the windows and mistook him for an assasin a few months ago and since then had soldiers and guards stand point at every open window or arch way if she wasnt there to kick him out herself. "She doesnt approve of a scoundrel like you visiting me you know." I heard a deep laugh rumble in his chest before he stifled it quickly, shooting his deep blue eyes down to me and observing the way i sipped on my ale slowly before leaning down to whisper into my ear, his tattered cape falling around us. "Does it look like i care?" his straight face was enough answer to the question. Craig's attention was very reminiscent of that of a cat, he would come to you when he felt like it and swat you away or ignore you if he was not in the mood. You had to earn his interest and respect for him to even consider talking to you and you usually had to have something he wanted for him to come and seek you out. He very rarely did anything for free. That was unless you had fed and watered him and gave him little treats and pets occasionally, then he would never let you go. Occasionally he would even bring something he had hunted. I smiled at the memory of one of his visits. The way he snuck through my window and dropped the hide of a large bear he had hunted on the floor as a gift, without washing the blood off it first.
"Why are you here anyway? King fatass says you're into elves." He put bluntly both our eyes drifting towards the chubby king who had began to descend the stairs and lap up the praise his followers gave him. "You know i like humans too, otherwise why would you be sneaking into my home each night?" I whispered back nudging his side and feeling him retaliate with a soft push as the King spotted us. His waddle making its way over to us.
