When Love Dies

Chapter Three

Kelly.

She began to move in closer but I quickly moved my face so she kissed my cheek. She moved back and licked her lips. I'm pretty sure she felt quite shitty considering the fact that she thought she was going to get a kiss.

My cheeks instantly grew red, I thank myself for being darkskin so she couldn't see it.

She cleared her throat. "You know I was thinking about doing track this year"

"Oh really" I looked at her "What events ?"

She leaned against the wall next to me and turned her head so she was looking me.

"Maybe the 200 meter dash. I don't know , I just thought I'll try something new." She shrugged her shoulders.

"Hmmm, athletic much ."

"Scholarship much." She spatted.

"Geez" I threw my hands up in defense "My bad" I laughed a bit "It was a joke"

She chuckled "Yeah I know , it was bad"

I scoffed "whatever"

We both shared a laugh. After about a minute it died down. She looked at me and back at the party.

"Let's dip"

I looked her and frowned my eyebrows "What"

"Lets leave" she said casually

"And go where ?" I looked at her with one eyebrow raised.

"Shit I don't know , but this party dead."

I looked back into the party and I looked at her.

"I came here with Z , I can't just up and leave. Plus she's wasted and high."

"C got her. She gon make sure she get home safely"

I reluctantly looked at her.

"Okay."

"Sweet" she said getting up from leaning on the wall.

She grabbed my hand we went back inside and we by passed the crowd going out the front door. Once we got to her car I let her hand go and got in the car.

She followed suit. She started the engine and with that we were gone. We were driving and she stopped at Wendy's.

"You want something ?"

"No, I'm fine thanks." I said looking at my phone.

"Ok" she turned her attention the young lady taking her order "Uhh lemme get two four for fours. One with a chicken sandwich or with a bacon cheeseburger." She looked back at me and studied me for a while "andddd let me get one sprite ...No two sprites. that'll be it."

I looked her "why did you get two orders fat ass"

"Ones for you dummy" She grabbed the food and she gave me a bag.

"Well I told you" I said with a little sass "I. did. not. want. anything."

She stuffed her mouth with fries. "Yeah,yeah eat your food"

I started to eat my fries. We arrived at her house but we stayed put in her car while music was playing. We sat in a comfortable silence enjoying our food.

"Soo" she said breaking the silence "What made you move out here. To Houston."

I looked at her taking a bit out my sandwich.

"Uhh" I cleared my throat. "Um well, My mother passed away about a year ago.. And my father got a job offering out her. and he took. I guess a fresh new start , So here I am" I laughed at the last part.
