You watched over me after school,
And played with me when mom couldn't.
You taught me how to whistle,
And told me it was okay to color outside the lines.
Whenever mom couldn't be around,
You stepped in and did her job, becoming my other mom.
I loved you like you were my mom,
And you loved me like I was your daughter.
In mom's will she named you my guardian,
Though dad got custody instead.
You made me realize that when you smile,
Only half the time it's real.
You sent me birthday and Christmas presents,
And called every Saturday no matter what.
Now that you are gone, I feel as if I'm losing another mom.
I just don't see how this is fair.
I can't help the thoughts that own my mind,
you know the kind.
As soon as I started getting better,
You disappeared from my life.
I know you watching over me now,
With mom by your side.
You two have always been best friends,
And then the best mothers.
Now you are the best guardian angels out there.
