Leaving

*Alex P.O.V*

When Hailey called me and told me everything I immediately ran to get a duffle bag and filled it with some clean clothes , underwear , some snacks, my passport, my phone charger and my wallet which had $250. "This isn't going to be enough," I mumbled. I needed more money from my parents.

I ran to my parents room and flicked the light switch. "Mom?" I asked. I heard some groaning and my mom turned over and chucked a pillow at me "It's 3am go to bed," she whined. "I need to go the high coucil found me. And I need cash," I quickly blurted out. Immediately my mum got up. She wanted to talk but I told her I didn't have time and I needed the money. She went to a cupboard and pulled out 2 wads of cash. She handed them to me and I saw they were $1000 bills.

"Stay safe. I love you," my mom bade me goodbye, kissing me on the forehead. I waved at her and waited for Hailey who was already there with a similar looking duffle bag. She shot up when she saw me and pulled me to the dark. "Whoa hey.What's up?" I asked cooly. She gave me a glare "I saw one of the high council men," she said peering behind the bushes. I looked behind me and sure enough the silhouette of a man could be seen.

Once we made sure he was out of sight, we came out and ran as fast as we could to the airport. If leaving the country was going to keep us safe, so be it. We went up to the counter to purchase our tickets to California. "Hi, I would like to purchase 2 tickets to California please," I asked the lady behind the counter. She smiled at me and gave me my tickets and I paid them. $2000. Not bad. We waited at our gate when Hailey said "We need a place to stay at Cali." I nooded as we both got up to board our flight.

*Hailey P.O.V *

Once we were on the flight, Alex and I fought to see who got to sit the window seat. I know it's childish but in the end it was worth it since I won. Alex pouted the first 10 minutes of the ride, which was fine by me. I put on my earplugs and went to sleep drowning in Ed Sheeran's voice.

I woke up to Alex poking my cheek. I raised an eyebrow at him and shot him a glare. "What?" I asked sternly. "I um.. You just looked so cu-peaceful when you um..sleep," he said stuttering. Aww. His stuttering made him even cuter. Did he really think i didn't catch that slip? He thinks I'm cute. "Um..okay..?" I answered. "No.. I mean like you seemed...I sound like a creeper watching you sleep," he finally admitted head hung low. "I chuckled at his lameness. Ahhh this is gonna be a longggg ride.
