Just like I did every morning, I stepped off the bus and walked up the side walk to the side doors. As I walked through the threshold I saw my friend Clark standing off to the right gazing out the glass of the door waiting for his girlfriend. I said hi of course. Off to my left as usual stood a group of boys who would just talk and hang out till whenever they decided to go off to class or something. As I walked by them, I kept my head down, not wanting to make eye contact, we all know how that can become awkward.
Once I was past those boys and the pop machine, I went to grab the handle to the door of the band room, when I saw my boyfriend coming my way. I knew he saw me, but I continued to go inside the band room, as I always did. After putting my bag inside the practice room in which was the Color Guard room during marching band season, and is still our room, I walked back out.
When I walked out the band room doors, my boyfriend was standing to my right with his back against the pop machine, waiting for me. We exchanged smiles and then I saw that he was holding something.
I asked him, "What is that?" He replied with a follow me. He took my hand and we walked through the crowd of people. When we got to the gym doors, he said, "Through the gym." I was confused, so I questioned him. He told me again to just follow him. I was nervous and my head was racing, I didn't know what to expect and I just couldn't imagine what he was up to.
After we exited the gym, we turned right and then stopped in the little hallway area. He then handed me a green piece of paper that had been folded in half to make a card. He told me to read it. Inside is said...
On the first day of Christmas,
My true love gave to me,
A heartfelt poem,
With only one simple fee.
That fee is my love,
Undying for all of eternity.
And in this card,
He tells me of his only
Pled.
That I will stand by his
Side,
Until that day he gets down
On one knee.
And be the girl,
That is only
Meant for he.
So on the first day of
Christmas,
My true love gave to me,
His heart on paper,
His intentions for me to see.
As I was reading I couldn't help, but smile. It was so sweet and cheesy, I loved it. I new he meant every word.
He had told me before that he had trouble with words, It was easier for him to show it than say it. That made his words mean even more, because I new he had to actually try.
He then handed me something, that at first glance, looked like a balloon weight. It was red tissue paper tied shut with green and red shiny ribbons.
I then started pulling on the ribbons to untie it and I opened the top, to find six chocolates wrapped in golden paper. I smiled again.
He smiled and said,"I got you some fancy chocolate."
Overwhelmed with happiness I hugged him and kissed him, and I was practically speechless. I didn't know what to say.
After going to my classes and just going throughout my day, I learned that he had been planning this for about a week and a half. I had no idea. He told me one day that he was talking about gifts for me with his dad, and that was when together, they planned all the gifts for him to do the Twelve Days of Christmas for me.
Excited, I told a lot of my friends, who all were very excited for me.
The card was day one, and the chocolates were day two. He had to give them to me on the same day, because of the way our plans with our families were planned out.
He let me know that on the next day, I will be getting the third and fourth days gifts.
I can't wait!!
