I didn't look in any other rooms. I just walked throughout the castle waiting for sundown so I could speak with Cronan some more. (Even though I already didn't follow his "rule" of not speaking to him till sundown.)

I sat down on a seat in one of the hallways to think about our whole conversation. "Why did I get angry," I started talking to myself (a habit of mine when I'm alone.) "I shouldn't have gotten mad, I could have handle it any other way but no. I'm so stupid!"

"Yes you are." I jumped out of my skin in surprise of the unexpected visitor. It was Cronan, of course.

"How much did you hear?" I asked him as my face turned red from blushing and embarrassment.

"Only all of it." Cronan said in an almost cruel tone. I moved over leaving space for him to sit on bench, of which he took. We both sat there for a second in an awkward silence, till I spoke up. "I'm sorry you know... for being mad and blowing up." I looked down at my shoes.

"Apology accepted." His words were followed by another silence. "Well, the real reason I came here was to give you a tour of the castle before dinner." Cronan then stood and offered his hand for me to take, and of course I took it. I stood his cold hand in mine, I had never held another human being (or in this case elves) hand since the fourth grade when the gym teacher forced us to partner with the opposite gender.

As we began to walk down the hall and start the tour he let go of my hand. It was nice while it lasted, I thought.

The tour began with the usual "Here is a closet, a bathroom, a spare bedroom" I listened closely and took in my surroundings so I would know where it all was later. The tour was interrupted with a growl from my stomach.

"Sorry," I answered Cronans confused expression, "I haven't eaten all day."

"We can stop the tour for now," he told me, "I'm parched as well."

Cronan started off down the hall again, I followed close behind him. We took a staircase down, a left, then straight on till we were met with two huge wooden doors. Cronan opened one and motioned for me to enter.

The dining room put me in awe. The room was all a darker kind of wood with gold outlines that almost looked like leafs all around. At the end of the room was a huge fireplace unlit but smoking. It was obviously lit not long ago. And in the middle of the room was a huge oval

shaped table with 6 chairs. Each chair had a different design on the back. A leaf, a wave, a flame, wings, a heart, and a eye.

Cronan walked over to the chair with an eye on its back and sat down. "Would you like to sit?" He said giving me a disturbed look.

"Yes, thank you." I walked over and sat in the chair with the heart on it next to Cronan. It was quite a while before I tried to start start up a conversation again (wrong decision). I turned to Cronan, his fists clenched on the table "So... how did you get your tattoo on your cheek?" I asked curiously.

"None of your business!" He snapped at me. He then sighed and stood up and walked out of the room muttering angrily about the goblins. I sat in the chair not knowing what to do next until Cronan came back followed by a white cloth covered cart being pushed by two frantic goblins. My nose breathed in the smell of food as Cronan sat back down in his chair. The goblins grabbed the two silver bowls off the cart and set them before us along with silverware.

I looked at the food in front of me. It was a brown soup of some sort filled with various vegetables I could not name if I tried. In the center of the bowl was a circular golden brown biscuit that looked delicious.

I immediately picked up the spoon at my right and dipped it in the hot soup. I put it up to my mouth and tasted it. The whole thing was at a perfect mixture of sweet and salty. "Oh my gosh," I looked over to Cronan. "That's amazing!" I then took my fork and ate a piece of the biscuit in the middle. The whole thing practically melted in my mouth. By far my favorite piece of the meal.

I was almost done with my dish when a thunderous crash came from outside. Cronan stood up and walked out of the dining hall. As quickly as I could I shoved the rest of the biscuit into my mouth and ran after him. He wasn't in the hallway as I exited the room so that meant he was far ahead of me. I spent about five minutes trying to find where the courtyard was, for that was were I anticipated he would be.

I had just swallowed the rest of my biscuit when I turned a corner to find one of the doors to the courtyard left open. I quietly stood in the doorway. I look out to the courtyard to find a huge ship in flames and four goblins at its feet.

"The earth guardian will come to us," Cronan started him way down to where Sophie's cage was dangling in the air. "Because we have something she wants," He looked up at Sophie indicating it was her. "And then her amulet will be mine." A goblin then muttered something in his own language, I didn't understand it. "Ah," Cronan responded, "Why do I want her amulet when I already have my own?" He picks up his own amulet and kisses it. "Because that is how you open my magic portal."

I turn away and press my back to the wall by the door frame. I hear Cronan laugh maniacally as I think to myself aloud. Is he going to hurt Emily? I turn to take a second look only to see Cronan starting for the doorway. I'm not supposed to be here. Out of fear, I turn and start to make my way quickly down the hallway at which I came.

"And where do you think your going?" A voice rang from the open doorway. I turned around and see Cronan sauntering towards me from the doorway. "Are you afraid?" He leaned in close to my face, an evil smirk spread across his face.

"No." I lied copying the same smirk on my face. I was scared but I wasn't going to let him know that.

"Are you going to run away?" Cronan leaned in even closer to my face almost teasing me.

I looked down at my fingernails then back at him. "When the fun is about to begin... not a chance." I was impressed with my ability to lie well.

Cronan stood up straight again away from my face. "Well then, let the tour commence." He turned and started down the hallway I was first headed, I followed quickly after. I stated to recognize certain hallways we went down as we walked to our final stops. We ended in the hallway with Cronans mothers room. It was so dark now only flame from torches lit the hall. Cronan put his hand on the doorknob of the room next to his mothers. "There," he pointed at one of the rooms across from where he was standing, "Is the bathroom. And over there," he pointed to the room next the the bathroom, "That is were you will be staying. Goodnight." And with that he walked into his bedroom, I could hear him lock the door behind him.

I walked over to my new bedroom and opened the door. I could barely see anything inside for there was no torches inside the room. I could only manage to see the outline of my bed. I flung myself onto the bed. It was nice and bouncy. I sat up and took off my shoes. I quickly raced under the covers which felt like soft silk. With the comfort from the bed and the exhaustion from the long day, I finally fell asleep.
