Yugi's POV
*you would think that Kaiba would give up on dueling us after being defeated every time* 《ya, speak of the devil》"duel me Motou!" Kaiba demanded. *you know there's no rule in duel monsters that says you can't eat the enemy's cards, at least then he won't have any cards to duel with* 《I'm eating his Blue eyes white dragons, all three of them》 I said before tackling Kaiba and stealing his dragons "hey! Give me back my dragons!" Kaiba screeched. I put one of his dragons in my mouth and threatened to rip it. "WHAT THE HELL MOTOU!?" Kaiba screamed. I bit down on the dragon cards and leapt over the railing, running on all fours up the stairs. "Catch me if you can" I taunted. Seto chased me up to the roof. Things quickly got out of hand as Seto tackled me right into the fence. "Ow, get off" I shouted. Suddenly all the force that Kaiba used to pin me to the fence caused it to give. I grabbed the ledge at the last second before looking up at Seto "help me please" I begged as he just walked away. *there's nothing I can do to help you in this situation* I struggled trying to pull myself back onto the roof to no avail. I could feel my grip slipping 《I was only kidding around with Kaiba, I meant no harm. Yet he just left me to my fate》 I lost my grip and prayed for a miracle. Suddenly my fall was halted, I looked up to see Anzu "Anzu! I'm so glad you're here" I said grateful. "I saw you messing around with Kaiba and you two run upstairs but only one of you came down, so I was worried he did something to you" Anzu said as she pulled me back onto the roof. "What happened Yugi?" Anzu asked. "Kaiba slammed me into the fence with so much force that it caused the fence to give and I you know the rest" I responded. "How could he just leave you hanging on for dear life" Anzu growled. I attempted to stand but pain in my ankle caused me to fall back down. "You're hurt" Anzu said before picking me up and carrying me down the stairs "I twisted my ankle when Kaiba tackled me" I replied. "I'm going to make him sorry he did that" Anzu growled with her fierce overprotective older sister vibe. I purred happily. "You're like an overprotective older sister when you're angry" I giggled. Anzu playfully growled at me *what about me?! What am I to you?* 《you're my one and only partner, no one can ever replace you》 *partner as in just a friend or something more?* 《do you want us to be something more?》 *I do but do you?* 《I do too》 *I was afraid you wouldn't feel the same way aibou* 《meet me in my soul room at 9 pm》*(purring) ok my little hikari* "Yugi, earth to Yugi" Jonouchi said waving a hand in front of my face 'when did he get here?' "Huh?" I questioned. "You were zoning out" Jonouchi replied. *do they keep forgetting that we zone out when safely communicating with each other, talking to each other during situations where you're adrenaline is pumping is much harder though* "Yugi?!" Jonouchi shouted. 《I care about Jonouchi but if he keeps doing that then I'm going to slap him》 *(laughing) oh little one, you're hilarious* "stop annoying Yugi, Jonouchi!" Anzu said whacking Jonouchi. *I didn't expect Anzu to hit Jonouchi for you* "what was that for Anzu?" Jonouchi asked annoyed. "It's obvious that Yugi and Yami are talking to one another, stop interrupting them" Anzu growled. *she really is like an overprotective older sister* 《hehe, ya. She's been that way ever since she became my friend》 *may I ask what you were like before meeting Anzu?* 《believe it or not I was extremely shy and easily frightened. Anzu was very patient with me, she never pushed me to do something that made me uncomfortable》 *that is hard to believe, I mean you're so outgoing although not as confident than me. You still seem self conscious* 《I know but being around you makes me a bit more confident》 *being around you has made me a better person, I get to feel important to someone I care about* 《(yawns) I'm really tired》 *your adrenaline has completely worn so you're now feeling the effects of your near death experience, it seems Anzu had noticed. She carried you home* "Yugi?" Anzu questioned. "Hmm" I asked feeling my exhaustion getting to me. "Get some sleep, I'll see you tomorrow" Anzu said gently placing me in my bed. I yawned "ok, see you tomorrow Anzu" I said before falling asleep.
[The next morning]
*little one? Are you awake?* 《yes but still really tired》 *that's to be expected, you had a traumatic day yesterday* 《can I skip school and just go back to sleep, I don't think I would be able to focus anyway. Too tired》 *you can't just hide from Kaiba forever, I know you're trying to hide the fact that you're scared* 《(sighs) I can't hide anything from you, I guess you're right. Ok, I'm going to school》
[Time skip]
I walked into the school still exhausted from yesterday. "Good morning Yugi" Anzu said walking up to me. "Good morning Anzu" I replied. "You feeling ok Yugi?" Anzu asked concerned. I looked up at Anzu as I stumbled, I slid down the wall unable to stand. "Yugi!?" Anzu shouted. *Yugi?* 《...》
Yami's POV
I was forced to take over as Yugi passed out. *Yugi?* 《...》 "Yami?" Anzu asked confused. "Yugi just lost to his exhaustion" I replied. "Why did Yugi come to school then?" Anzu asked. "Remember, there's a test today and if Yugi doesn't take it today then he won't get another chance and he will fail the class, I knew he would pay for Kaiba's cruelty. I had a feeling that I would have to do this for Yugi, I won't have my little hikari fail because Kaiba was a jerk" I growled. "That's right, I almost forgot" Anzu replied.

I waved goodbye to Anzu as I walked into the game shop *Yugi?* 《hmm?》*how are you feeling?* 《tired》 *you've been sleeping all day though* 《I know but I'm emotionally exhausted not physically. Anyway what was the test score?》 *57/60* 《nice, thanks for doing the test for me》 *anything for you aibou* 《you do so much for me and I can't do anything for you》 *being your partner is enough for me, your love is all I need little one* 《(purring) aww, thanks aibou》 *are you feeling better?* 《ya, I think all I needed was your love》 *(purring) let's get some sleep little one* 《ok》
