*Juliet's POV*

"Call him." Niall tells me with a sympathetic look. "He want's to fix things and I know deep down that you do too. Alex can't go on with not seeing her dad."

"Fine." I huff and pull out my phone. I scroll down to his name, pressing call. I put it on speaker. On the second ring he answers.

"Hi Juliet!" He chirps.

"H-hey." I slur. Why was I so nervous about doing this? "Um, I got your letter. I think it would be a good idea."

"We don't have to. I mean, I can deal with it even though it would suck. It's up to you, I was just wondering because I know you would want free time but also I-"

"You can have her on weekends." I offer, cutting off his rambling. "Saturday, Sunday, Monday if you want. Every other week you can have her on Friday too."

"Really?" Louis asks. I know his eyes just lit up.

"Yeah." I let out the breath I had been holding since I read the letter a week ago. "She needs her dad Louis, no one can fill those shoes."

"Thank you Juliet!" Louis squawks. "Sorry, that was really loud. Um, yeah! That would be amazing, I can't even tell you how much more relaxed this makes me feel."

"I wish we could be like this all the time." I admit.

"Me too." Louis says and Niall and I smile,

"BOO!"  Niall screams into my phone and Louis shrieks.

"Don't do that! I will kill you Horan!" Louis shouts.

"Don't threaten me! That makes me have nightmares!" Niall whines.

"Sorry." Louis chuckles.

"The doctor called yesterday. He wanted me to come in to talk about Tommy and such. We can meet you there and you can take Alex when it's done." I reply.

"Ok." Louis agrees happily. "I should probably go buy a bed and a shedload of toys."

"Do you have the room for that?" I ask.

"Course. I moved out like two and a half weeks ago into my own flat. It has two extra bedrooms so it's pretty huge." Louis explains.

"Oh..." I trail off. "that's cool."

"Bye Louis!" We chorus.

"Bye." Louis laughs then hangs up. I flop backwards onto the couch.

"It wasn't that hard, was it?" Niall asks while crawling up to a press-up position on top of me.

"No." I sigh.

"Who was right?" Niall smirks.

"I'll shoot you." I scowl at him. He begins tickling me and soon we are both in fits of laughter. "Stop! Stop!"

"Not until you say, 'Niall is the sexiest man alive'!" Niall yells.

"Never!" I gape out. Plan B! I begin whimpering, pretending he hurt me. He immediately stops.

"What's wrong?" Niall frets.

"You're an idiot." I rush out before tossing him off of me and running out the back door, ignoring the rain.

"I'M GOING TO GET YOU!" Niall screams after me. I jump the fence. Not long after I hear a loud thump and a moan. "I'm ok!" I laugh before continuing my running. He was hot on my feet. We come up to the hill. I jump, sliding on my back down the mud. I didn't care. I was wearing one of his tank tops and old sweatpants. "AH! MUD!"

"Man up Horan!" I shriek. I get to the bottom only to be flung into a large mud pile.

"GAH!" Niall screeches. I look up to see Niall trip over his own feet and land right in front of me. "Haha! I've got you!"

"No!" I bellow as he begins slathering me in mud. "You prick!" I gather some in my hands, smearing it on his face and hair. Who knows how long we were having our mud fight, but what I do know is that it will be a moment I will remember forever.

"Daddy!" Alex suddenly squeals, breaking from Niall and I's grasp. We watch as she goes running over to an almost unrecognizable person.

It was Louis, but he seemed so different. His hair wasn't in a playful quiff. Instead it was swept to the side like it always used to be. He was wearing a plain white shirt, unbuttoned blue s-shirt, black jeans, and white converse. It didn't look anything like the Louis I've known these past months.

Louis scoops her up off the ground, kissing her head. We were too far away to hear their conversation but they were both smiling so bright. Niall and I walk over to them.

"Hey!" Louis greets us. He hugs Niall. I'm unsure about what he's gonna do, but he pulls me into a hug as well, placing a small peck on my cheek. A smile plasters on my face and I kiss his cheek as well before we separate. "Did he say what he wanted to talk about?"

"No." I shake my head. "Just that it was important." The three of us are chatting away like we've been best friends forever as we make our way to the doctor's office.

It turns out that Louis has been spending most of his time working part-time on an online university. He was studying to become a drama teacher like he wanted to. He knew he was going to have to wait to actually do it but he said he wanted to get it done so he wouldn't be lost when One Direction was over.

Since Louis and I split, he has become really mature. He moved out of the lads house, he's got a new wardrobe, changing his lifestyle, and getting a degree. I'm honestly really impressed. It's really amazing of him.

The whole reason the doctor wanted to talk to us was because Tommy is doing a lot better. The cancer has past and he is back to his happy and healthy self. Of course he has to take it easy, but on Monday he can come home!

"Juliet?" Louis asks.

"Yeah, Lou?" I look up at him.

"Can we talk?" Louis blurts out. He was nervous. I want to know why.

"Yeah." I nod. I follow him back into the house. We were having a picnic to celebrate Tommy finally being home again.

"I can't do this." Louis begins.

"You can't do what?" I furrow my eyebrows together, instantly becoming worried.

"Don't freak out, please." Louis begs. "I don't want to do this. I don't know how much longer I can do it. CATCHING FIRE ALERT!!! -> Acting for the kids then just ignoring each other in real life. If you can stop looking at me like I'm wounded then I can stop acting like it."

"I get it Louis. I hate it too." I respond. A sigh escapes my mouth. "But what are we supposed to do? Neither of us can put up with the other for more than twenty minutes or else we break into either tears or anger."

"We can't be enemies, we can't be friends, we can't be less than acquaintances, we can't be acquaintances, can we be frenemies?" Louis asks, sticking out his hand.

"Frenemies." I shake his hand, holding it tight.
