"I'm sorry, Peter, but you have been absent too many times." Mr. Harrison said on Monday morning. "You can't come on this field trip tomorrow. I wish I could do something about it, but it's not up to me."

Peter sighed and nodded. He should have expected it. He walked out of the empty classroom to meet up with his best friend Ned Leeds and his girlfriend Michelle Jones. They both knew everything about him. From being Spider-man to how close he actually was with the Avengers.

"Hey, loser." MJ called. "What did they say?"

"I can't go on the trip." he sighed.

"What? They can't do that!" Ned exclaimed.

"Yeah, they can. I guess that's the downside of being an Avenger." Peter shrugged. "Anyway, it doesn't matter. Knowing my luck I'll just get into trouble."

"Okay, well, we'll just stay with you here and let the rest go on the trip." MJ said. "We don't even know where we're going. They're keeping it secret until we're there, so it can't be that good."

"No, you should go! I'll just ask Tony to stay in the tower and work on the new web design. It's fine! You should go and have fun!" Peter smiled at them. "At least I won't have to put up with Flash."

Peter and May had moved into the Tower Penthouse after some villain had attacked them in their home. Tony and Pepper had insisted that it would be safer and May agreed.

He walked towards his room and grabbed his homework. He'd talk to the others at dinner.

A few hours later, Peter was walking towards the dinner table where May, Pepper, and Tony already ready to eat.

"Hey, Pete. How was school?" May asked.

"I can't go on the trip tomorrow." He shrugged. "Too many absences."

"That's not fair! I'll go with you tomorrow and set things straight. I'll make sure you go on that field trip." Tony assured him.

"No, that's not fair either. I'll go on a trip which I'm not supposed to go on, just because I know Tony Stark." Peter frowned.

Pepper smiled and agreed. "He's right."

"Okay, then you'll stay here and work on your projects." Tony shrugged. "You shouldn't be punished because you're saving the world as Spiderman."

"I was actually about to ask that! Can I?" Peter asked excitedly. He turned towards May with a hopeful look in his eyes. Tony looked at her too with pleading eyes.

She looked at the two thoughtfully and then smiled. "I suppose, it would be unfair." Peter and Tony grinned and high-fives each other. "But, no Spiderman-ing," she added.

"Are we making that a verb now?" Peter asked. "But yes, I won't go on patrol or anything. Thank you so much!"

After dinner, Peter send Ned and MJ a message with the good news. They promised to visit after the trip.

When Peter woke up the next morning, he was greeted by the smell of eggs and bacon.

"Hey, Pepper. It smells amazing!" Peter gushed and she smiled at him. Tony informed him that May was already working and they would both have to go into a meeting in a few minutes.

"That's fine. I'll go downstairs and look if someone needs my help. I'll see you after the meeting." Peter said and he walked towards the elevator.

Although the young hero worked with Tony most of the time, he was also often downstairs, helping other interns or just seeing what they were working on. Emily, one of the interns, was often with him. She was already in college but the age gap wasn't that big.
